LikedA unique experience of staying in a castle in a tiny island in the Stockholm archipelago. The quiet grounds make for an interesting and calm stay, esp. after the last boat has left. Rooms are quiet, comfortable and minimally furnished. Bathrooms are shared, which were clean and tidy. Breakfast is an open buffet with local food items. The staff were extremely helpful.

DislikedOverall stay was good. Although there's room to improve the entrance to the castle (e.g. some gardening, removing weeds, etc.). This could help in uplifting the face and first impression of the place.

LikedHistorical exclusive location, nice view, great for walks and enjoying the view of the ferries and boats coming and going. Breakfast was good, and shared bathrooms worked well and were clean. Room was very classic and with an interesting history.

DislikedDuring check-in, our keys were missing, so it had to be solved via phone at the place.

Likedgood idea of accommodation for one night - you live in a real castle, in cozy rooms

DislikedBe careful! You can only get to the castle by paying ferry for 57k per person. The paid ferry runs very rarely, we did not wait for the free one.

LikedIt's definitely a great location, bordered all around by water, lush vegetation and significant history.

DislikedThere were no bathrooms in the room, instead there was a communal bathroom. The rooms felt rather decrepit, I understand it's an old facility and they want to keep the quaint look & feel, but it definitely needed a new coat of paint and at that price point of $160/night, a bathroom inside the room is the least one could ask for. Maybe it was my fault for not confirming what the facilities were beforehand, but at that price point, I didn't feel like I needed to. The most horrific part however was not the facility, it was with Booking.com itself. The cost of the room per night in SEK is 1, 705:-. I used Paypal to pay, and for whatever reason, Paypal billed me that same amount in SGD(Singapore Dollars)!!! As in I was charged $SGD 1, 705/night or $USD 1, 268/night! Thankfully the reversal came in after 3 weeks(🤬). But damn!
