LikedThe only good thing about this hotel is the location. AVOID!

DislikedThis hotel looks nothing like the pictures - in fact I would say it borders on fraudulent! In reality it is dilapidated & poorly maintained. The room was dimly lit, there were holes in the floor, paint splatters all over the curtains, marks all over the walls, every handle or knob was loose. Cleaning was so ineffective that a large, well-established black spider was present in the corner of the room above the bed. The very dimly-lit bathroom had a shower curtain the width of a towel & poor water pressure. There were no tea/coffee making facilities as pictured. Significantly there was no smoke detector (as advertised), just the bracket on the ceiling where one used to be. In the hallways some lights sit out of their sockets, others show signs of heat-damage to the ceiling tiles. A "hotel worker" has dumped their battered SUV with a Police "illegal to be on the street" notice on it in the guest carpark, taking up 2 spaces since Feb 3rd apparently - initially reception staff didn't even know who's vehicle it was. As of April 13th this vehicle is still abandoned in the guest carpark, costing €20 per day in lost parking revenue - I guess that's all you need to know about the standard of "management" at Schloß Köpenick. I asked to be moved, (from their "best" room that they normally charge extra for) the other room on offer smelt utterly putrid so I declined. On check-out I left my room exactly as I had arrived, even bagged up the rubbish myself but was subsequently sprung with a €15 per-night fee for a 4kg Dog that doesn't leave a trace. This was never mentioned at check-in despite my Booking.com reservation stating I'll be arriving with my Dog. Completely arrogant staff refused to waive the fee for the Dog in lieu of the poor state of the room.
