Hotel Garibaldi

LikedGood location for looking round the old part of the city and marina. The room was comfortable with a spacious bathroom. Friendly staff. We didn’t eat here at all, but there were plenty of good cafes and restaurants nearby.

DislikedWe couldn’t find our way into the car park - not helped by the fact it’s actually accessed across a pedestrianised area! There is a secure public car park very nearby though which charges the same as the hotel.

Likedvery centrally located, the hotel is easy to reach by bus from the airport and from the main train station. many restaurants nearby and touristic attractions

Dislikedthe entrance of the hotel is not at street level, and going down the stairs from the main streets with luggages might be a challenge for some

DislikedOn our first morning we opened our curtains to find two men on our balcony which was a real shock! When we spoke to reception we were told that they would finish at 4.00pm.We could not use our balcony for our first 3 days and our privacy was compromised! The next thing was, we were asked to change rooms (half-way through our holiday), told it was a bigger room on the 4th floor! We did not have a problem with the size of our room! We felt obliged to move! The new room was fine but had not been properly checked out - no tea/coffee making facilities, balcony with a pile of grit & dust( still there at the end of our holiday) On the the day we moved a tour group arrived and I was stunned to see a couple go into our old room! This was disgraceful of this hotel, no proper explanation was given. I would really like to know what was going on! I am a well travelled woman, now in my eighties, and have never experienced anything like this and without a word or a thank you from the management.

LikedGreat location, safe car parking and very helpful staff.

DislikedAircon was a bit noisy and controlled from the reception but they adjusted it for us when asked so all good.
