Eurohotel Barcelona Granvia Fira

LikedClean room, top floor with a nice big terrace with nice views of Barcelona in the distance (couldn't sit out there though as too many mosquitos, for which there was a warning on the door). Staff were pleasant towards me (although some were arguing with each other and seemed stressed or unhappy).

DislikedLabelled 4* (and priced as such!) but is more like 2* - no coffee machine in the room, minibar only had water/juice, no info on how to order room service/no menu in room. Everything was very dated and shabby - desperately needs renovating. Bed wasn't very comfy, squeaked a lot. The handle on the door to the terrace was very loose (will break soon). Restaurant food was overpriced, limited choice and totally tasteless but being in an industrial area there is literally nowhere nearby to go. The hotel says it is close to the Fira but it really depends which entrance. It was a 22 minute walk to the main entrance for example. Also a 12 min walk to the nearest metro (Europa Fira) which wasn't easy with a heavy suitcase. Overall, adequate for 1 or 2 nights for a business trip but make sure you eat in the city. Would not recommend for leisure or for a longer stay.

DislikedI booked this hotel for £320 per night, expecting a luxurious 4-star experience, but was met with conditions that barely warranted 2 stars. The room was in a deplorable state upon arrival; it was not only dirty but distressingly unhygienic. There was hair in the bed, and to my horror, bugs were also present. The walls bore the remnants of smashed mosquitoes, and the room was shrouded in dust. The bathroom was no better, with visible mould around the edges, which made for an unpleasant start to the day. Additionally, despite the windows being closed, the room was infested with mosquitoes, which made for an uncomfortable, itchy night. Soundproofing was practically non-existent. I could distinctly hear other guests showering, which severely impacted my privacy and comfort. The lack of basic cleanliness and maintenance in this establishment was thoroughly disappointing and fell drastically short of what one would expect from a hotel that claims to hold a 4-star rating. For the price paid, this experience was incredibly underwhelming and not worth a fraction of the cost. I strongly advise against staying here unless significant improvements are made.
