LikedBeds were comfortable.
DislikedSaying the staff were inattentive would be being kind. The worst customer service I’ve experienced, in particular the breakfast staff who took over an hour to bring our group any food or drink having messed up our orders a few times. We are patient people and don’t like to leave critical reviews but customer service seriously needs improvement. The property wasn’t very clean and I wouldn’t recommend staying here. There are hotels in the hotel zone for a comparable price and we all wished we had stayed there instead.

LikedVery good location. Friendly staff. Very close to local restaurants. The bus stop is nearby. There is a nice playa just accross the street. I felt safe. If u need money go to Ci Banco.
DislikedThe key lock from the shared womens room did not always work. The beds are rather small, I am 1,78 m tall. It was tight. Very noisy at night from people in front of the hotel. Suggest u bring earplugs.

If you are looking for a safe and fun place to stay as a solo traveller, Mayan monkey is the place! The bunk beds are clean with a nice curtain. There’re a lot of free activities going in the hostel. I’ve met many interesting backpackers during my stay! The only downside might be the washroom in the room is a bit smelly, and you might find it noisy if you want to rest before the party ends at around 12-1am. Otherwise, I highly recommend this hostel.
