LikedAllison House 17 was easy to find, on several major bus routes and within walking distance of Old Town and beyond. The self check-in and checkout worked perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised how quiet the room was - I couldn’t hear the busy road or any of the other guests. (I had a room in the basement with a view of the garden) The room was clean and had all the amenities needed. The bed was very comfortable.

LikedIt was a quiet neighborhood,short bus ride (although we walked everywhere) to the Royal Mile.bed was very comfortable and it was super clean!
DislikedNot that I didn't like it but I would suggest putting some chairs in the room,we had an amazing view of Arthur's Seat and it would be nice to sit by the window with a coffee in the morning

I was inside a "comfort room" accommodation. The room was quite massive tbh. The bathroom and shower were the best for me. Sheets were clean. My bed was clearly 2 single beds that were placed together to create 1 large bed, so I can feel the transition when I rolled over (the other bed was more lumpy). I had disturbed sleep as I can clearly hear people coming in and out as my room was nearest the house entrance. I could see some minor damage on the ceiling (my guess is water damage causing the cracks and paint peeling off). Overall, I had a pleasant stay. Bus stops being nearby was a plus.

LikedNice location. The room was clean and quiet. Good value for the money.
DislikedIt was a bit cold in the bathroom and the mattress wasn’t very comfy.

LikedEasy access to city centre just a bus away. Comfy bed and clean toilet/shower. No window room but it is fine, have own hair blower and can borrow the clothes iron/rack that was hang around the hallway.
DislikedBecause this is a guesthouse, I understand no lift available you need to carry your luggage up and down the stairs. You cannot see a staff to ask around. When I tried to talk to the staff using the call outside of the front door upon check in, she hardly don't understand what I said. The communication is very difficult. I tried to message in this app but no response at all regarding my complaint in the shower control that it was broken and hard to turn it off. No shampoo available in the bathroom.
