Mercure Hotel Amsterdam West

LikedLocation was good, did not have breakfast as Booking.com showed breakfast was included when I booked, but breakfast WAS extra, rooms were spacious and clean, staff were very helpful and friendly.

DislikedBooking.com pricing was higher than the actual pricing shown on Hotel website

DislikedCustomers were strange, angry German couple screaming bloody murder at each other next door to me. Room wasn’t clean there was skidmarks in my toilet. My colleagues room smelt of smoke and her lamp shade was damaged. Hotel is in the middle of no where. Staff seems quite blunt and not massively helpful. One tried to put me in a room right by the entrance of the hotel, I would recommend only putting someone in those rooms when you have no other rooms left. The breakfast was okay, nothing special. Found a few hairs in my bed which made me believe it wasn’t clean and the pillows were cheap polyester filling which made it hard to sleep.

LikedThe staff were very welcoming and they always tried to find a solution for my requests. Breakfast was very good.

DislikedHeater was not working and the room had issues in the electricity which was disconnecting the last day of my stay which the staff they moved me to another room. The hotel was undergoing renovation for the rooms which quite messy in the 1st floor
