Hyatt Regency Mumbai

LikedEveryone's stay at hotels during the pandemic should be taken with a grain of salt : people are tense, sometimes rightly paranoid and sometimes unreasonably so. Still : here's what I liked. I stayed for about twelve hours and the staff could NOT have been more pleasant. Everyone was courteous and eager to help. I had two goals : to get some rest and to get some work done. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean and luxuriously appointed, and the desk in the room was a great place to get work done. There were also 2-3 bottles of water in the room which is always nice. Everyone was appropriately masked up - which was very reassuring.

DislikedThe desk lamp didn't work - I didn't need it but if someone needed it to work at night, that would have been annoying. I spotted a discarded brownish bit of litter under the bedside table - looked like a bandaid, I hope it wasn't. As I was there so briefly, I didn't make a thing of it but during pandemic times, it was not a great thing to notice. I didn't spot a way to turn down the automatic air-conditioning - it did seem colder later in the day - which wasn't such an issue except it made it harder to get out bed and work :) The cost of car services (might be reasonable for other destinations, I don't know), was around 800 INR to the airport (the Uber was a 100 INR) which, given that it's on the same road as the airport, seemed wildly unreasonable. A (complementary) airport shuttle would surely make a lot of sense for an airport hotel.
