Hotel Napoleon is conveniently located in the Esquiline district of Rome, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, just above the metro station. It can be easily reached by public transport and Roma Termini train station is only one metro stop away (or 15-minute walk). Many sights like Colosseum, Baths of Trajan, Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano or Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore can be walked to in a few minutes. The hotel and furnishings were rather dated, but spotlessly clean. The front-desk staff was helpful and nice. As for the complaints, there was neither minibar nor tea/coffee making facilities in the room, which I would expect to come as standard in a 4* hotel. Also, the shower in our room was on the small side and I could barely fit in with my 185 cm. Room soundproofing could also be improved, as a lot of noise could be heard from the corridor and adjacent rooms. On the same note, the breakfast buffet was rather uninspiring for this category of hotel – limited selection, watered down juices, etc. Last but not least, while there are lifts in the hotel, be aware that it’s not entirely barrier free – there are always a few steps here and there, where you have to lug your suitcase. On the positive side, there are many bakeries, trattorias and restaurants with international cuisine in the vicinity. If you stay around, I recommend to visit the Nuovo Mercato Esquilino and Gelateria Fassi nearby.

LikedStaff, frente friendly and they spoke english, spanish and italian.

DislikedWhen I dropped something under the night stand I noticed it had not been cleaned, I found a little bit of old Ramen spaghetti. Everything else, was a great value and comfortable.
