Dorsett Mongkok, Hong Kong

LikedRoom was very small but cosy. It came with a safety box, a tiny bathroom and adequate shower (excellent water pressure), and a small table. Location was across from a McDonald's eatery and several express food places. No breakfast was included in room rate. There was a strong WiFi connection, as well as a flat TV with local programming.

DislikedI guess for a densely populated city like Hong Kong, the rate was ok but expensive compared to many Asian cities, given the minimal amenities. No bottled water provided unless one made a trip to one of three floors equipped with a filtered water fountain to fill up. Really no floor space to put out your luggage, and few plug connections to charge devices.

LikedThe property was in a good location that had free shuttle buses to key areas like Mongkok and TST. It also was within walking distance to Olympic and Mongkok stations and had a Mcdonalds and 7/11 nearby. The staff were amazing and helpful however the facilities were not outstanding.

DislikedOther than the laundry and gym room everything else was mediocre. The room appeared old, carpet and walls looked worn out, bed was stiff and not comfortable, the hotel phone looked like it was from the 1990s, the bathroom layout was outdated and impractical as the shower only had a curtain instead of an actual barrier to separate from the toilet and sink which is surprising considering this is a "4 star" facility. The aircon also had a moldy smell, bed side only had ONE power point, was not sound proof as you could hear other guest showering and the two main elevators took a life time to come (soemtimes we had to wait for 10 mins). Overall did not feel like a 4 star hotel and was not a good value for our money.
