Hotel Martelli

LikedEverything was quite agreeable, though we found our room to be on the small size. We later found out that there are larger and more suitable accomodations in the city, though quite a bit more expensive.

DislikedQuestion is: how can things be improved? Well, offer larger rooms for the same money. We will surely go back, since Firenze is our favourite city in Toscana.

LikedStuff were friendly. Really good location and this is the only good thing about this hotel. We didn’t have bed bugs, thank you. And we had hot water as well. Room was silent. We lived in #40

DislikedEverything :( it’s maybe 1* not a three for sure! Like cheap motel. There is no room such in the pictures in booking, small old tiny rooms. I think booking should check this hotel, pictures are totally different from the reality. Room is tiny, old, dirty. Up of the wardrobe was never cleaned, even when we asked about extra cleaning because I have an allergy- no one cleaned it/ When we entered the room there was army of mosquitoes - and only thing staff offered us - a fumigator - so we had to “kill” all 40-50 mosquitoes ourself - and there have been “spots” in the walls and doors with killed mosquitoes which were never cleaned while we stayed there. Bathroom is the other disaster- if you want to flush water - you can do ironically only once during 5-10’ So if you go to the toilet one often another - there won’t be flush for second one. Water in the bathtub runs very slow. Building and hotel itself is very old and needs renovation. Breakfast is bad - eggs from last week, smells :( Only the yogurt and musli you can really eat. Pastries are not even fresh. And the worst coffee in Italy - I haven’t try such a bad one in my life. Electricity sticks doesn’t work, hair drier also didn’t. You don’t have a safety box in your room.

LikedThe location was great and the staff were amazing. Great water pressure and temperature in the shower. Very old and authentic feel to the hotel.

DislikedThe breakfast was not great. Three cereals, some pastry and cakes. Not really a lot of choice. The bed was very hard and pillows were flat. Luckily there was spare pillows in the wardrobe, which helped. Also, no in room safe.

LikedWe really enjoyed the location. The staff was helpful. The hotel was very interesting. The breakfast was good and close to train station, but not too close. Overall, good stay.

LikedOverall it was great. Staff are friendly and gives you details about things to do in the city. Breakfast was good!
