Hotel Martelli

DislikedI had a leather bag I bought in Florence and I packed other presents in it for my daughters. The bag was in my suitcase in the top compartment. When I arrived in Venice I discovered the bag was missing. I traveled straight from Florence to Venice and the hotel was the only place I had the bag. When I contacted the hotel all they said was they would ask housekeeping. Needless to say no bag no presents

DislikedBathroom door was difficult to open. The bathroom was very dimly lit. The shower over the bath leaked quite badly on to the bathroom floor.

DislikedPillows too hard and no other options. I asked. Room floor was dirty. I wore some white slip on hotel slippers- from a previous location and the soles were caked with what I can only describe as ground in dust. Too bad except for these two things it would otherwise be perfect.

LikedLovely historical building. Typical Italian design with many original features. Close to station and many restaurants and shops. It is an old building so be ready for a few faults that come with age. Very comfortable and staff were very accommodating. Waiter in breakfast was super friendly and helpful.
