Hotel Villa Il Castagno

LikedGreat location, friendly staff, decently sized rooms. The balcony which rooms on the bottom floor have access to is a nice space to enjoy a drink.

DislikedIf you want your room serviced you must leave your room key in the door as the staff do not have spare keys - while the staff are trustworthy, it is a bit concerning to leave your room open to other guests. The breakfast which was included was packaged food with some cheap ham and cheese which I wouldn't recommend.

LikedThe location of the hotel is not bad, quiet area, but the staff was not very helpful. The sound insulation is just terrible, everything could be heard from other rooms.

DislikedThe owners were rude, there was a problem to park the car on the street, so I have no idea why this place is to find on Booking with “free parking space” because there is actually no parking belonging to this “hotel”. Everything is old, dirty, smells like old people. Breakfast is very artificial, quite everything is in the plastic package and has no taste. In the hotel there are a lot of old different pieces, artificial flowers, which are not matching to each other. A lot of spots on the walls in the whole room, bathroom, ketchup bags on the table in the corridor.

DislikedThe wifi from our room is very weak.

LikedThe guy at the reception is a jerk. Other than that, the lady is nice and all of the other staff is too. The room we had was spacious and had an access to the outside, which was super nice. Good location, not far from the centre (20 min by walking), which in my opinion is great, because the centre of the city is overcrowded and can be a bit overwhelming.

DislikedBreakfast is really not good, but for the price I guess you can't ask for more. Good coffe though. Also, it's a bit noisy inside the bedroom (you can hear the neighbours).
