Hotel Bristol Palace

LikedVery nice and well located hotel, just a short distance to the major attractions. Friendly staff, very good breakfast. We even tried the Giotto restaurant for dinner, great food with a local taste, fairly priced. The room was very spacious and comfortable. We loved the valet parking, even though there is a parking lot not to far from the hotel.

DislikedI don't understand why I wasn't able to use the AC to lower the room temperature in such a fine hotel. The explanation was that the whole hotel was still in winter mode and no cooling was available. The room was hot and couldn't sleep well.

LikedAll the staff I came across were super friendly. Breakfast is great. They told me where to park in advance 1 min walking. I was lucky to stay in the 6th floor but lower floors may struggle with street noise.

DislikedAlthough the hotel lobby shouts luxury as soon as you enter in the room it vanishes. Furnished is old in a ok shape. Nowadays most hotels offer at least water, in this one you need to pay anything (water, tea, coffee) at ridiculous prices

LikedVery nice hotel, room was comfortable enough. Location is on Main Street, which has its pros and cons.

DislikedWhile barely dressed, without knocking, our hotel room door opens suddenly and from it a cleaning lady looking at me. I said No thank you but still she remained until I went to the door. This could have been easily avoided by knocking on the door. Bathroom was a disappointment - Shower head doesn’t function properly (at least in our room), and everything gets wet (there’s no proper way to avoid this in both the shower and the sink unfortunately). Last but not least, location is an issue - leaving the hotel leads you to being harassed by bracelet salesmen and other Main Street tenants, not to mention being ‘fined’ by the police upon arriving for the first time (for incorrectly validating our metro ticket) - this is apparently an M.O in the nearby Ferrari metro station (if you can’t find where to validate your ticket, simply don’t use the metro).

LikedFascinating architecture, interiors and history. The staircase is of course stunning. Good dinner in the restaurant too!

DislikedLack of cleanliness… my shower was horrible… the shower head was covered in limescale and mould… I really had a few thinks before I had a shower (I arrived way too late to complain about it and ask for a different room…)

DislikedRoom could use an update, shower access was a bit difficult as the tub wall was very high.
