Hotel Bigallo

LikedLocation was spectacular. Lowest rate room was unremarkable looking out over someone’s roof, but the upgrade looked out over the square. Helpful staff. 6 minute or less walk to everything. Lift worked, but stairs were a comfortable climb once luggage was taken up.

DislikedExpedia suggested a double bed was available in the lowest rate room if you booked with partial refund available - it was not and upgrade cost even more.

LikedLocation - in the center of town.

DislikedExpensive. Should have at least water and tea etc, in the room. Minor safety issues. Should be a handrail on the stairs between 3rd. and 4th floors from breakfast room on up.. Also, bizarrely, a gap in the internal stairwell that a child could easily fall through.

LikedOur room window was just opposite the duomo. An excellent location indeed. Staff were friendly and always helpful and accommodating. Will surely be our accommodation should we visit Florence again, if the same room is available :)

DislikedBreakfast wasn’t good, lack of choice & poor quality. bed wasnt the most comfortable. Pillows not great. Should resupply shower gel’s every morning. Access to coffee machine throughout the day/evening would be good. WiFi shouldn’t you linked to Facebook, we don’t all use Facebook or want to use it

Dislikedan inconvenient elderly employee watching me during breakfast. And also the blue-eyed receptionist, who seemed unfriendly to me, getting irritated because I asked for the Wi-Fi password (which should be available without the need to ask). The breakfast is compatible with the hotel price. Be careful not to stumble and fall when exiting the elevator.
