Caravaggio Hotel

LikedThe location was good and the room was a good size.

DislikedThe staff were unhelpful, and even tried to charge us twice for the room! The wifi network was spotty at best. None of the doors worked properly and kept getting stuck. Another room requested no cleaning one day but it was written down wrong meaning our room wasn't cleaned instead. The reception staff insisted we leave our room key with them when we left the hotel and made us feel very uncomfortable. At one point in the evening they had locked the door but there was nobody at reception, meaning we had to wait outside for 10 minutes until someone came to let us in. The soundproofing was none existent, it sounded like the windows were open onto the street 24/7 meaning we were frequently woken up by late night revellers at 3/4am.

LikedThe staff were very friendly and helpful. The price of the room was ok and there was a mini-fridge in the room.

DislikedThe room was not what you would expect in a 4-star hotel.; it was more like a room you would find in a 2-star hotel. It was very different from the photos. The decor was rather shabby, with paint peeling and there was rotting wood around the bath.

LikedI really enjoyed my stay at the Caravaggio. My late arrival was no problem at all for the friendly staff. The room was excellent with a surprising little balcony looking out over the city. The breakfast was good and the location ideal for exploring the city. All in all, a fine hotel.
