LikedWould prefer wider variety of food.

DislikedHad issue with bartender who we reported to front desk. Before even checking in- I was drinking a beer$6-7 & received a phone call. I had hung my jacket on back of barstool and still had half a glass of beer left. I walked over to opposite side of room to take call and not disturb customers. The bartender came over while I was in the middle of my phone conversation and rudely ordered me back to bar to pay for my beer. As I tried to explain that I wasn’t done with my beer and I had also left my jacket at bar I would be back over after finishing the phone call. Bartender just continued saying “you need to pay your bill” talking over me trying to explain while finishing my phone call. We were not comfortable using the lobby bar services nor ordering food there. The front desk sent us up the street to a wine bar where we spent a bit of time the next two days.

LikedFirst conversation with a parking attendant was very joyful; he helpfully shared visiting info and history of the place. Also appreciated a refund for 2nd room when two of our travelers’ flight was canceled.

LikedIt was nice to return to Chautauqua after having sold our condo. I had always admired the Anthenaeum but hadn’t stayed there until this trip. Our room was gorgeous and had a beautiful view of the lake.

DislikedNo off season restaurant on site.

LikedIt was on the lake great views.

DislikedParking 10 minute walk. It was raining & valet was expensive at $17.00 🙁

LikedChautauqua is an amazing place and the History is wonderful - The Athenaeum is a place I have always wanted to stay - And I 'm very glad I did - Everyone should experience this with an open mind and recognize how amazing it is to even stay in such a beautiful place!!
