South Place Hotel

LikedThe room was stunning and so comfortable. The double shower was amazing! I was very impressed that we were also offered a cocktail as it was my husbands birthday, nice touch.

DislikedWe were unable to use the bar as there was a private function. Unfortunately, the bar was a huge attraction for our choice of hotel as we were looking forward to using it at the end of the evening but were unable to do so.

LikedRoom finish was lovely. Staff were great. Good location

LikedThe hotel itself, including furnishings, finishes etc are stunning and the location is perfect. The rooms are lovely.

DislikedThe staff were unhelpful and unwelcoming, my towels were covered in thick cement like material (will attach photos), given the room was over £300 a night I wouldn’t expect to be charged for a glass of milk for a coffee…. Furthermore they charge £5 room service charge which is unheard of…why offer room service if you charge for it? There were random wires hanging out of the shower shelf which is concerning considering it’s so close to water, the TV really keys the room down you barely get any channels and cannot connect to Netflix / any smart streaming. Music from below in the restaurant / bar was really loud and we were on the third floor. I also found it highly distasteful that a hotel as aesthetically pleasing as this one had a whole page dedicated to the sex toys / packages they can offer you..weird. Unlikely to stay again due to the terrible staff, and many issues as mentioned above which you do not expect for £300+ a night.

LikedIt was lovely. Great room, friendly staff and in an excellent location. It was as also the best bed I’ve ever slept in!!

DislikedThere was a very annoying ventilation sound constantly which made me mark the hotel down.
