Twentyone Hotel

LikedWell located on the west side of the river. Within walking distance of many attractions. Great food choices along with an excellent breakfast in the morning at the hotel. The staff was very accommodating and very pleasant.

DislikedWe were kept awake by a a disco held on the terrace. We were told the party would go on until the guests were tired of dancing). Total disregard for the hotel guests and attitude aplenty on the staff’s part. The party finally stopped after the police were called (or so the receptionist told us on one of the many phone calls we made to him that night, as we were not the ones who called the police). The room was small and also noisy from 5:30 pm until dinner time, when they played loud music presumably for their aperitif time. We could not tell whether the room was clean or not as it was quite dark, it might have been, not sure really. They describe themselves as a “design hotel”, well in my opinion the design could do with a considerable update. Receptionist staff not appreciating that people might speak more than one language (Italian included) also caused an unpleasant episode which we are happy not to relate here for the sake of this person being able to keep their job. they paid for our airport transfer, but frankly we would have preferred to get what we paid for, a room that we could sleep in. All rather unpleasant.

LikedThe breakfast was poor to start with, the hotel was quite crowded and we had to wait to be seated 2 out of the 4 days to eat breakfast. On one occasion, we had to eat standing up until we were seated. Some staff was very polite, other staff was extremely curt, borderline rude. The room size was on the small side but it was clean enough, better use of space could be made in the rooms. The location was great, cleanliness was very good.
