Hotel Caffè Verdi - 24 hours Reception

LikedLocation and size of room. The room was clean. The cafe was excellent for morning coffee and bites to eat. The ladies in the cafe were lovely and worked hard to provide a quick and efficient service.

DislikedThe promises made by booking.com did not happen…. No breakfast and no free taxi to the airport. The lady in charge made it clear it wasn’t her problem. There was even a sign up stating all breakfast has to be paid for. Very difficult to contact booking.com The attitude of the lady in charge when we explained about the completely broken and unusable shower was very poor. She went on about how she was on her own and she would call a maintenance man, therefore expecting us to wait after a long and tiring journey. Surely, as customers we don’t need to hear about her problems! Eventually we were given a new room. Again, the shower hose sprayed out from its link to the shower head but at least this one was usable. No kettle in the room and none available. All our other hotels provided a kettle when not actually in the room. Great shame.

LikedThe staff were lovely, room a good size clean and comfortable. 24 hour café useful and very good food and drinks. Two USB plug in points which were great as we forgot our plug adapter. Others have moaned about the shower, but we had no issues. Good strong water stream plenty of water a standard corner shower ok not the biggest but we had no issues and we aren’t small people. Position excellent, 30 min walk from the airport 15 from the tower 5 from river and excellent bars & restaurants. Really effective little fridge perfect for water - in fact it froze some of ours which meant it was lovely and refreshing and if we’d been there longer snacks. Lovely city main recommendation is the Museum Opera dell duomo beautiful views of the tower peaceful from the garden and the panoramic café.

DislikedOnly negative was the air conditioning wasn’t working whilst we were there. It was ok because not too hot but I would be wary further in to the summer. Which is a real shame as otherwise would definitely return. A very effective fan in the room was fine for us this week.
