LikedThe beds were great!!!king size and really comfortable. The size of the room and the balcony. I appreciate the quietness and gardens/view of the hotel; from the 5th floor terrace you can enjoy views to Vesubio and all the city and the bay. The WIFI connection was very good. Breakfast buffet combined continental standartd meal and also italian local pastry....but it was monotonous (everyday the same) and missed a more variety of fresh food. A positive point was prepare you true italian coffes (not only machine). For those who travel with family they offer "family rooms" and a "family breakfast ticket" for 23 euros all, very interesting. A very good option if you have car because they offer free parking inside hotel. They have a gym, a bit basic but for me a distinctive facility for a hotel. For runners, Capodimonte park is close. The staff were very kind.
DislikedThe hotel is a bit old, need a refurnishment mainly the room furnitures (like table and chairs) but also common places like restaurant. It is located just up Capodimonte, a bit far from everything and only reachable after many stairs and narrow street....keep in mind if you travel with little children, old people etc... The restaurant staff was a bit short, the tables were not prepared, some dishes dirty....lack of forks/knifes.....lack of bread (only sandwich bread). The scrambled eggs were cold...no bread gluten free. No vegetal milk. No cacao. A bit expensive for what they offer...the double room costs 188 euros

We had a very unpleasant stay at the Culture Hotel Villa Capodimonte. We knew that the hotel was a bit run down and that we would experience some inconvenience (such as the shower) from previous reviews and did not really mind. So we booked anyway and were happy with the view from the roof which was also as expected. Unfortuntelay, we were not ready to experience the bad quality of service . Our noisy neighbours came back around 1 in the morning and we asked reception for help. There was no way to have anyone answer the phone, so we had to dress up and go to the reception and bother the night staff who obviously had more interesting stuff going on. They told us that they could not do anything as the noisy people would not answer them and that they couldn't give us another room, but that the noisy people would probably, at some point, stop the noise -- weel, they did after we banged on the wall, as a last resort. The next morning, we and asked for the free shuttle to the city center and were told that they run only in the morning. Well, it was 11 a.m. As we said that we didn't see the problem because 11 am was not in the afternoon, we were answered that we should have booked it in advance -- but had never been told so. In conclusion, most hostels have a better service than this so called 4 stars hotel. We were ready for some problems with the room but not with the service. Being able to sleep and get the service included is a minimum and we didn't get what we paid for. In conclusion, if you want to sleep, don't go there. If you want to have fun with friends without any disturbance from the staff, it may be a good choice!
