    Not recommended

The staff is friendly and apologetic even though we experienced a lot of negative things. The hotel is located just a few steps from Robinson's Shopping mall. It has parking although there was none available when we checked in even though we specifically asked for it. The staff were courteous and apologetic. The room has a kitchen/sitting room equipped like a self catering facility. We had a terribly dirty room/flat with lots of cockroaches! Upon check in, the bedding were visibly stained so we asked housekeeping to change them. The bathroom did not look like it had been cleaned after the last occupant as there were rubbish and used toothbrushes at the back of the sink. The shower enclosure is tiny and the grout is black with mold!! Staff was apologetic about it. The whole room looked tired, old, and dirty. The intercom was not working because the instruction card beside it was obsolete. Reception ignored our complaint about it! The corridor had a dirty, musty smell that my daughter held her breath every time we were there. The restaurant is tiny and is located on the 8th floor car park. Breakfast is nothing special.

    Needs to have a window

The hotel looks nice and the service is good. There was housekeeping everyday which was nice. Service was great. Front desk, valet, security and room service were all nice. Facility was generally clean throughout. Security guards are very prompt in helping us and very friendly too. Overall a good experience. The restaurant is not expensive but not all the food was good. Fries taste weird. The chicken was fried way too long. And a lot of the menu wasn't available. However the nachos we ordered we very nice and well cooked. The location of the hotel could be better. Noise during the night. Too loud. Not good for resting or downtime. TV monitor old and needs replacement. Lighting inside the rooms were too dark, especially since the room was windowless!

Manila Grand Opera Hotel is an old but functioning hotel. For its cheap price, it offers great service to its customers. What I like is that this hotel is cheap. You might expect that the hotel will be bad but do not let the price fool you. It offers basic needs and it even has a swimming pool. The hotel is situated right next to the Doroteo Jose Station of the LRT. It provides great convenience if you are a commuter and you are staying in that place. What I don't like is that due to its price, you would really feel that you are staying in an average hotel. It doesn't give you a feeling of luxury. Another thing that I don't like is the passageways and rooms. I expected that the rooms and passageways are carpeted. Overall, I would recommend this place for its price, offers, and convenience. But it just doesn't offer you the luxury that upper-class hotels have.
