Food was just as excellent as we remembered, so much choice and everything was cooked to perfection, and always replenished and warm. Staff & cleanliness also 5 stars.Sad that there were none of the 2017 animation team there this year, though the 2018 guys were good and extremely talented dancers puting on quality shows during the night. Couple of things let us down this year. Firstly the Sofa Bed which was extremely noisy, uncomfortable and made it very difficult to sleep in. Neither I or my wife got a single good nights sleep in the 10 day stay, and couldn’t wait to get back home to our own bed near the end of the holiday. The other main concern was the lack of staff in the main bar at the evening entertainment. Just 1 serving at any time and up to 300 guests made it a poor customer experience waiting for long periods for drinks. There are much better alternatives across many other All Inclusive resorts the Hotel must review this. One final difference appears to be a separation in the hotel, with half of it devoted to the French clients. A company called Jet Tours (French) appear to have acquired a large part of the resort which wasn't made clear to us prior to our arrival and we were put in accommodation in this area. Really affected our experience as the French travel in large groups, have poor manners and don't observe a queuing system. My daughter was actually told around the pool that she wasn't welcome in the kids club as it was exclusively french and she had to walk 10 minutes away to the international kids club, so this was very disappointing. If I wanted to stay in France I would have booked a holiday there, but I love fuerteventura and the Spanish culture, and the fact the hotel has decided to split in two (French and everyone else) is a major disappointment, and would be a factor in us booking a third trip to the Barcelo. We love the place, the location, the facilities, the food, and the people.
