About St. Agnes

Nestled between Redruth and Perranporth, St Agnes is a picturesque village on the north coast of Cornwall. For around 400 years, it was surrounded by more than 100 tin and copper mines, the remnants of which are still visible today. St Agnes’s dramatic coastline is traversed by walking trails managed by the National Trust.

You can learn about the people, events and industries that have shaped the region at the St Agnes Museum, which is home to a large leatherback turtle as part of its natural history displays. The museum is a short stroll from the Miners & Mechanics' Institute where craft fairs and community events are regularly held.

A network of walking trails hug the nearby coastline, taking in the photogenic remains of Cornwall’s mining past and the beautiful beach at Chapel Porth. At night, St Agnes Head is a magnificent spot for stargazing and a designated Dark Sky Discovery Site.
