Things to do in Perth
Perth is home to over 40 historic buildings, many of which date back to the early 19th century. Pick up a National Trust brochure at the Post Office, then take a self-guided walking tour to discover the charismatic churches, historic shopfronts, hotels and houses.
Visit the oldest building in town, the Leather Bottle Inn, which was constructed in 1839 using handmade nails. It’s now home to an antique shop where you can browse vintage wares within the original cedar walls.
Admire the Victorian Free Gothic architecture of St. Andrews Church, which features buttressed walls and lancet windows. One of the most impressive buildings in Perth is the Romanesque Revival-style Baptist Tabernacle, designed in an octagonal shape with a domed roof and large panelled doors.

Getting there
Perth is 15 minutes’ drive south of Launceston and just over two hours’ drive north of Hobart. It’s connected by regular buses that travel between the two hubs and most of Perth’s sights are within easy walking distance of one another.
