For sweeping views across the region, ride the cable car that leads from Fiesch to the 2,927-metre-high summit of the Eggishorn. After enjoying the panoramas, you can follow the trail that leads down to the Fiescheralp, passing by Lake Märjelensee along the way. From its shores, there are magnificent views of the Aletsch Glacier.

In the winter months, there are more than 100 kilometres of ski slopes to explore, with options for both beginners and intermediate skiers at the Aletsch Arena. Snowboarders can take advantage of the halfpipes and ramps while experienced skiers can explore the off-piste runs that traverse the Aletsch Glacier. In addition, there are dozens of prepared cross-country skiing trails in the area.

Travelling with kids? They’ll love flying down the 13-kilometre-long toboggan run that connects from Fiescheralp to the village of Lax. Jump aboard one of the Ghosky sleds traditionally used in the Valais region and steer your way through the forest that descends to the banks of the Rhone River. Alternatively, you can explore the network of winter hiking trails that traverse the Aletsch Plateau.
