Named after a former cotton gin owner, Euless sprawls on the southern edge of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. It’ traversed by Little Bear Creek and features recreational parks as well as museums that bring to life the area’s agricultural and aviation history.
Things to do in Euless
Learn about the people, events and industries that have shaped the region at the Euless Heritage Museum, which exhibits everyday objects and military artefacts. Wander through the 1930s-inspired kitchen and the 1940s-era schoolroom before stretching your legs on the trails of Heritage Park. This leafy green space is home to a mid-19th-century log cabin and a mural depicting notable moments in Euless’s past.
Also nearby is the C.R. Smith Museum, which is located on the campus of the American Airlines Flight Academy at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. It showcases the history of commercial aviation, with a fully restored DC-3 aircraft among its highlights. Explore the interactive exhibits and watch a show in the large-format theatre before shopping for aviation-inspired gifts in the museum store.
A five-kilometre-long nature trail winds its way through the Villages of Bear Creek Park, which forms part of a corridor of green spaces in the north of Euless. To the west lies McCormick Park, with its cycling path, playground and picnic gazebos while the Bear Creek Golf Club sprawls to the east. In addition to its two 18-hole golf courses, it features a well-equipped practice area.
Getting there
Euless is around 20 minutes’ drive from the centre of Dallas and around the same distance from Fort Worth. The terminal buildings of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport are 10 minutes away. Buses travel through Euless and connect most of its attractions.
