fantastic weekend, great location. highly recommended. great value for moneySpent the weekend in Birmingham as a treat from my partner. We travelled down on train and had made plans to shop during the day and party in the evening. What can i say. The location of this hotel is fantastic. A stones throw away from New St Station and 2 mins to the Bull Ring and town center. Adjacent to the Chinese Quarter. so no additional expense on taxis etc.Went to Jongluers in the eveing which if you arent wearing heels, within walking distance (around 15 mins) or in my case a £5.00 taxi ride. It was also the same rate after midnight and there are plenty of taxis available.Nightlife is great so if you are looking to go to Birmingham, on a budget please take advantage of this lovely hotel. Great breakfast aswell. Freshly cooked and served to your table. Please book the breakfast with the stay though as it is cheaper.Would go again tomorrow.

Suitable accomodation to attend the NIA.We found the staff welcoming and very helpful giving us directions for our venue. It was close enough for us to walk to the NIA about 15mins away. We had a slight problem with the bathroom door which was dealt with immediately and there was always someone on reception to return our room key to us. The food was excellent and overall was great value for money.

Good budget optionNice friendly hotel, with polite helpful staff. The location is ideal for the train station, however access to the hotel from the station means using some pretty dire covered steps in which various undesirables loiter at night, so please be aware of this if you a single traveller arriving late at night! Breakfast is included and was quite pleasant with a good selection of food, and hairdryers are available on request too, so all in all good value and adequate for what I needed.

Quite an experienceHas a dodgy bar beneath that is frequented by hoodies/intimidating men. Room was dirty and had a musty smell and the bathroom smelled of excrement and had some dubious brown stains on the wall. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially females on their own.

this was excellent value for money - more spacious than a travel inn/lodge. very close to the railway station and so very convenient.

Although there was a fan in the room, it was really hot. I was unable to leave the window open due to fear of security issues as my window opened out onto a wide ledge that adjoined windows to all the other rooms next to mine. If this issue was addressed, (eg bars or shutters that allowed the window to open without allowing access to the room) it would make a big difference to the guests experience.

Hotel descriptionI specifically chose this hotel because it stated that it was walking distance to the NIA. We had to actually book a taxi to beable to get us to the NIA on our evening out. So this was an expense we did not budget for, and felt mislead from the original description.

Stay in BrumWas a bit worried on arrival as Reception Area appeared a bit shabby and chap in charge carried on speaking on phone without looking up and acknowledging our presence. However the room itself was absolutely fine. Clean, tea and coffee facilities, nice hot water etc. The breakfast was really good - full English cooked to order plus usual juices, cereals etc. Breakfast staff extremely pleasant and friendly. Pay for breakfast when checking in as only £4 per person per day instead of £7. Chose the hotel as is within easy walking distance of the shops and gay bars. Only problem was leaving the car in the nearest NCP car park (St Judes Passage) and having to pay £14 for 24hrs - so 2 day stay expensive. Whilst walking round, saw car park for £5 for 24 hrs but was too late. Needed more info in advance on hotel website. Poured with rain for whole stay but will not blame the hotel for that! Overall, very good value and perfectly adequate for a roof over your head.

got what you would expect for the moneyhad to have cleaner sent to room on checkin but this was promptly sorted and were offered another room. on return to the hotel at 3am we and another couple were unable to gain entrance to the hotel for 30 mins. in the morning we complained to the duty manager who gave us a part refund and told us to ask for him whenever we book a room there in the future.

This hotel is old and in need of refurbishment.I stayed at this hotel on a hot day and found that I could only open 1 small top window so the room was like a sweat box with no air. Everything is very dated and in need of refurbishment. We only stayed at this hotel because of price and was only slightly cheaper than other new hotels. I would recommend that you pay the extra £5 and stay in another hotel

Poor bookingArrived late at night, room had been previously used and remained uncleaned. Bed had been slept in with some visible remains of bodily hair left behind! rubbish still in bins, towels used.No other rooms available, so changed the bed myself, had own towels with me so no great problems.Thankfully only needed a few hours sleep between trains from station across the road. Not recommended.First time I've been disappointed by any room booked through Late Rooms. In this case the inexpensive rate of £35.00 meant that I really did get what I paid for, low price low quality.

The night porter was genuinely friendly and welcoming, although he had no knowledge of my arrival due to a cock-up further up the line (LateRooms?). He soon got things sorted, though. The room was fine, perfectly good value for money.

Poor experienceHaving booked my accomodation in advance of my travel the rooms were overbooked and I was offered a very small room with a shared bathroom. This was not acceptable and I did not have to pay for the room. Fortunately my colleague had been given a twin room which I had to share. However had been our choice we would have asked for this at booking. I asked for extra foam pillows but did not receive them. I was offered a free breakfast but as I had to leave early for a flight this was not taken, no other discount or reimbursement was offered.
