I travel regularly and stay in hotels almost every week and found that the staff at this hotel are the most rude I have ever come across. Their attitude was totally disgusting and very offensive.The hotel itself was fine, but a fair distance from the town centre.Car parking was a joke as their are no instructions of where it is, nor how to open the gate, and ofcourse the staff were not forth coming in providing this information.Also, there are no facilities for food within the hotel.Overall a very expensive horrible experience.

This was a good hotel for our brief stopover in Bologna. The reception staff were helpful (and they spoke English) when we arrived on a late flight and our room was more than adequate for the one night. The area around the hotel was a bit seedy as other reviews have said but I actually felt safe walking around. It's one street away from the train station and only about a 10 min taxi ride from the airport. Breakfast was very good compared to other places we stayed in Italy - fresh fruit salad, lots of cereals, yoghurts, bread, cheeses, ham, tea/coffee/juice and a small selection of hot food.

The hotel was in a quite street, approx 5 minutes walk from the main train station (ideal for travel to and from airport). To walk to the main plazza was only a short walk of 15 minutes. I would always recommend to walk, as Taxis are quite expensive (you'll get charged from the time you call the taxi until you get dropped off at your destination). Zanhotel has got 2 other hotels nearer to the city centre however they are at a very busy road and predominately used by tourist groups.Enjoy the stay - we certainly have!
