Yungang International Hotel Datong

Located at the southern end of town, the Yungang Hotel ( Yungang binguan ) is about 7km from the railway station and 18km from the famous Yungang Buddhist Caves . This three star hotel offers 318 comfortable guestrooms and suites, ranging from single rooms to deluxe suites. All the rooms are equipped with satellite TV, air conditioning and IDD telephones, making this one of the most viable foreigner guesthouse in town (for those with money). The hotel provides conference facilities, with different sized meeting rooms and a business center that offers typing, fax and photocopying services. Guests can spend their evenings at the hotel bar, disco or billiards room, although satellite television in-room will be possibly more satisfying. The hotel's Chinese Restaurant strangely provides Dai minority food. The Dai are a southern China minority, found predominantly around Yunnan. The restaurant also serves Shandong, Sichuan, Cantonese cuisine and various local specialties. There is a coffee shop, a post office and foreign exchange desk within the hotel.
