The knowledgeable staff made our stay fun and event filled. The hotel has a breakfast for an extra charge, but we had coffee and croissant from local bakeries and sat in the park nearby. The Hotel Yllen is in a non-tourist neighberhood and is safe at all times of the day and night with several small stores close by and a 24 hour bike station accross the street to rent bikes. The Metro(Volontaires stop on line 12) is literally steps away which makes it fast and easy to get where you are going. One note: the price to take the metro and transfer to a train to get to CDG is 8.60 euro no matter where you are in the "City". Buy your ticket at "Volontaire" head to "Pasture", transfer to line 6 and get off at "Denfert Rochereau" which has access to the "B" train that takes you to CDG. A lot less hassel! Remember to keep you ticket stubb, you need it to exit the train station to get into the airport terminal. Internet is available, but a bit pricey. The staff will look-up museums and other places on request to check times and location(maps). They even confirmed our tour with the tour company.

Bathrooms were large and clean. The bed comforter was gross and spelled. Location was good, staff was friendly. Rooms were decent if you don't plan on being in them very long.

The hotel was very centrally located, and this was a bonus. Breakfast was really good, and staff friendly. The room was very small, but there are better rooms, but was clean and bathroon facilities good.

The only highlight of this hotel is the bathroom which was renovated. The room was old and small and the two twin beds had soggy mattresses. The furniture is old. The staff is not friendly. The elevators stopped working when we checked out and we had to carry suitcases from the fifth floor. No help was offered by the front desk. Telephone system is old and expensive. WiFi internet is available for an expensive fee (10 euro for 2 hours) Overall rating: poor service.

This hotel was a great value for the money. It is located about 2 miles away from the main attractions, but there is a subway stop literally across the street. The night manager spoke perfect English and was very helpful. The rooms are large, about the size you would expect in the United States, and the bathrooms are modern. The room was always clean and was quiet at night.

Location across from metro; interesting restaurants; helpful staff; great bathroom. "Double" bed was just 2 singles pushed together. This did not make for a romantic setting. We were on the go in Paris, and sitting in the hotel room to luxuriate was not our plan. This is a good hotel for that. By Paris standards, it was very good value. The beds were firm and comfortable; the bathroom was excellent with a strong shower, bath, hair dryer, electric plug for shaving, a heated towel drying rack and a laundry line in the tub. In short, it was perfect for dealing with a long stay while we were on the go. The location is fantastic -- just across from a stop for the #12 line. We took the metro and buses everyplace -- this was a great location for that. The Eiffel Tower is visible from the hotel (sort of), and it's not a long walk away (if you are an urban walker, as we were), so the first night we just headed out toward the Eiffel Tower. What fun! The staff was helpful, efficient, and professional. Lots of little Cafes right across the street, so go have a croissant and coffee for breakfast rather than the hotel breakfast -- except on Sunday, when must Cafes are closed, and the 12 Euro hot buffet looks a lot better! They do have satellite T.V., but do not count in relaxing by watching T.V. after a day of sight-seeing. There are 8 channels, most in French, German, or Spanish. The only English-language channel was Sky. Net, which seems to be the Fox News of Britain? Internet access is available for a reasonable price in the lobby. There's also a printer -- handy for printing out your boarding passes for the return flight! There's a post-office just up the street, so it's easy to send postcards. I recommend the hotel for those who really want to explore Paris!

The bathroom was very small. I did not choose this hotel because I planned to spend a lot of time in the bathroom. The staff was friendly and helpful. I plan to stay at this hotel again. I like the free buffet breakfast. The most important feature for me is the internet place a couple of blocks away. It was cheap, 3 for an hour. I liked the cafe a block away. They have the best sandwiches and desserts. Caution: No one in the cafe spoke a word of English, so it was a point to it kind of thing.
