I happened upon this quaint oasis of traditional English hospitality by chance. After sampling their superb menu of such classics as 'sausages and mash' and 'cockney oysters' with a 'spotted dick' dessert, I had to return in order to sample the entire menu before I left. I checked out of my booked hotel and booked into this one when I discovered their extensive selection of real English beer on tap and famous Scotch malt collection. I wasn't disappointed by my decision to move and the excellent staff team catered for my every need, treating each guest like a personal house guest. They even rescued me when I locked my keys in the car! The owner personally guided me around the mountain ski trails and his wife ensured that I was made to feel like a member of her family as I enjoyed afternoon tea. The bar staff were knowledgeable and eager to highlight the different flavours that I could experience from the huge variety of beers and spirits. The catering staff are also eager to describe the flavours and experience of every unique menu item. I shall now return in the autumn for the Fall experience and look forward to the complimentary afternoon tea and home-made cakes always on offer.

By and large we found the experience very pleasant at the Ye Olde England Inne. The proprietors were friendly and very accommodating -- especially when we requested to switch rooms when we got there (the first room was in the front of the hotel and there was a fair amount of traffic noise so we moved to a quieter room in the back). The Pickwick Pub was excellent and I heartily recommend the signature dish of Beef Wellington. The soup could have been warmer. The real show-stopper was the (traditional English desert). Truly amazing. Also they have a mind bogging collection of Beers, Ales and Scotches. Minor Complaints: The somewhat loud and relentless Christmas music in the lobby and dining room. We were also disappointed that the hot tub was not open. Overall I would recommend it.

This is the best or equal of many inns my wife and I have sampled in Vermont. The appointments are in the finest taste with an English overlay. We have been back perhaps ten times and were always refreshed by the experience. Particularly pleasant is the cordiality of the host and his wife and the afternoon tea arranged in the lounge with Her Majesty staring down from a wall portrait. It is common to share the lounge at that time with British couples who came over to enjoy the skiing at Stowe, but respond to overtures of welcome from us Yanks with really interesting conversation. Stowe has so many art galleries and restaurants of high quality that even if you pass on the skiing, recreation path or hiking, wandering around the village will fill many hours.

We recently had a two-day meeting with 30 people at The Inne, and we had a wonderful experience. I found the entire staff to be helpful and very accommodating. This was our second visit and I hope to return. The Inne is very cozy, has a wonderful bar and is in a great location. I highly recommend a room with a jucuzzi tub! A great way to unwind before hitting the very comfy bed. The Inne is situated just a 10-minute walk to town and to all the wonderful shops; right across the street is both a great pizza place and a movie theatre! So, you can park your car for your entire visit and really feel like your away even while youre working! Something I completely appreciate.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Inne last Thanksgiving. They upgraded our room to a jacuzzi room for very little money. The breakfasts were EXCELLENT, among the best I've had. The food blew away the Hilton. The bed was VERY comfortable and had 400 + threadcount sheets with 600 + threadcount pillows. The room, bed, sheets, and even the comforter were very clean. The staff were very welcoming. I left my phone by accident and they called me and mailed it back the same day. The bar mixes great drinks and the people are very nice. I have to say that this is a 3 star hotel with 4 - 5 star qualities. We are going back this year.

I stayed for Thanksgiving vacations. We arrive at 11.00pm and we found the keys of the room hanged on the reception door and a letter with the direction to go to the room. All the lights were off by the way. I felt very bad.The receptions staff is very unpolite you feel like your are not welcome. The room are tiny and the restaurant of the hotel is too expensive compared to the quality offered. I am very disappointed by the behavior of the reception staff and this hotel doesn't deserve a three star qualification. If you have other choices I would like to suggest you NOT TO GO THERE. "This is the second time we have stayed at the Inn this year. The rooms in the Cliff house are wonderful with 4 poster beds, jacuzzis,fireplaces and decks. The Pub that is attached is incredible, the best food in the area, everything from traditional english pub fare to venison and such.. Incredible wine selection and the service of both the inn and pub is first rate. The owners are great. Make sure to stop by on your way through Vermont"

"My family and our pet lab decided to stay at Ye Olde England Inne because they allowed pets and had large cottage rooms. The price was a good value but we were ready to accept less comfort. As it turned out the cottage room was plenty and very comfortable. The Inne was very laid back and made no fuss over our having our pet lab and kids. This is a great place to go for families not just because they are located across from a movie theater, pizza place and tons of recreation but because they provide all our usual comforts. We will go back again and next time spend at least a week."
