RecommendedWe stayed at the Yasmak Sultan and had a wonderful holiday. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the views from the roof top restaurant are great. We ate in the restaurant 2 evenings in a row because the food was so good. Great central location within walking distance of many key historical sites.

The hotel is conveniently located in Sultanahmet, close to the major attractions, but in a quiet street. It is at walking distance from Topkapi, and very close to the tram stop Gulhane, perfect for those who want to explore the city by tram. Though the bathrooms can be small, the bedrooms are pretty comfortable. The panoramic rooftop restaurant serves delicious food, and for a reasonable fee one can enjoy Turkish bath, sauna, and aromatic (and energic!) massage. Finally, for those who prefer to eat out, the little streets around the hotel (like Ibni Kemal Caddesi and Udavendigar Caddesi) are full of restaurants. Free Wi-Fi internet and extremely friendly, professional staff contribute to make it a very enjoyable hotel. I would certainly recommend this hotel!

Stayed there during this new year eve after my 2 weeks trip in other parts of Turkey. The registration is hassle free and fast at the counter. The room is of reasonable size for double bed. Have checked other rooms from the floor plan, and my room 202 is just slightly bigger than most others. Very personal touch of them giving 2 super-soft Turkish towel as a souvenir for 2009, and 2 chocolates on the table. So thoughtful. Staff service is quite good, with Customer officer assisting me to find out more about the palace, though she gave the wrong information that it is opened but when i was there, it was not opened every mon and thu. But that is a small issue. Like the free wireless access and rooftop breakfast, both are definitely a plus point to stay there. The location is near to all places of interest at Sultanamet and steps away to tram station. Will definitely stay this hotel again and highly recommended.

Excellent locationProbably situated in the perfect location for exploring the sultanahmet, 5 minutes walk to haghia sofia, blue mosque, cistern and 10 minutes to grand bazaar and several turkish baths. The street behind the hotel also has several good well priced restuarants like imbat and red river and also bars where you can sit out and smoke a water pipe.The hotel has a nice roof terrace where breakfast is served, though the buffet breakfast is pretty limited. Rooms are of a good size and kept extemely clean, though ours did not have the best view and there was building work on an adjacent property. Staff were helpful enough in parts. I would definately recommend this hotel at a good price.

yasmak sultan hotel- a) receptionist is courteous. b) breakfast buffet- lacks of selection. 1) i find this property has low level of western health code...salami & cheese platter is not placed under ice, it's just sitting there in room temperature for several hours. i did not enjoy the morning buffet. 2) restaurant host lacks health code as well. 3) this hotel didn't even have straws. c) hotel is kept neat d) rooms- 1) only had a thin blanket and did not have a sheet between the blanket and bed sheet. who knows if hotel even change the sheets between customers. bed lacks hygiene code as well. 2) room only had a little tv 3) room did not have a clock 4) bathroom - a) face cloth (towel) was placed on sink counter also lacks hygiene code b) bath towel are too thin. i've paid too much for this property.

Excellent location and serviceHotel located in the old town near Gulhane tram stop - excellent location. A 10 minute walk to explore the famous sites of Topkapi Palace, Ayia Sofia and Blue Mosque. You can enjoy breakfast (which was very good) looking out over these sites! You can also explore further afield really easily - the tram is a very good way of getting around and only costs 1.4 lira (about 60p) per journey regardless of how many stops you go.Extremely helpful and friendly staff and thought the newsletter they have to advise you of things to do in and around Istanbul was an excellent service.Rooms were comfortable and clean and noise outside was kept to a minimum.They also do airport pickups if you require this, which is very handy if you don't know where you are going initially - however the roads in Istanbul are packed at all times and the rights of way come down to who's got the biggest vehicle!Just a couple of minor things:- Gym is limited to just cardio equipment but they are looking at extending this to include weights- When settling your bill, if you pay by credit card, the amount debited will be in Turkish Lira so you may wish to settle your account via Euros insteadAs for Istanbul, it is a fantastic city with so much to see that we are coming back next year. As well as the Old Town, make sure you go up Galata Tower (although they charge 10 lira per person the views are worth every penny) and go to the town of Eyup (a very important place for Muslims) and when you are buying Turkish delight or the gorgeous Baklava make sure you haggle (you'll get a lot of money off the initial price).

The Yasmak Sultan was a great hotel for the value. Located only a few minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia and most other locations of interest, it was the perfect place for my visit. It is also located only a block from the tram station, which was very easy to use as a means of getting around the city. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially when arranging car service to and from the airport. The service, however, was not included in the price because the reservation was not made directly with the hotel. My room was very small, but it was clean, comfortable, and always well maintained. Everyone on the staff was friendly, especially those working at the rooftop restaurant. The continental breakfast was included in the price of the room and was surprisingly good. It was a great way to start the day! The surrounding neighborhood was full of restaurants, internet cafes, nightlife, and shopping. It really was the perfect location and contributed to a near-perfect visit.

We stayed in Yasmak Sultan Hotel for five nights in April 2009 and would stay there again. The location is great - close to all major sites and tram line and in a silent steet. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and large enough and breakfast was served in the rooftop restaurant with a view over the Golden Horn and to Hagia Sophia. The only con was unstable wifi connection. The staff promised to check it with me, but I never had the time for that.

good location, decent price via [your website], very small room, air conditioner didn't work properly, and although we were promised the room safe would be fixed (it needed a battery) we waited three days with no result. Breakfast was good, great view, good service there but very mediocre at front desk.

The hotel is in an excellent location. Excellent roof restaurant and wide variety of breakfasts available. View is really lovely from the restaurant. There was a small fitness centre in the basement which could be used freely. The sauna and steam were at an additional cost. The room (triple) was comfortable but looked out onto another building which was having work done on it. Occasionally a little noisy from room cleaning happening in the morning or from neighbouring rooms. Could have had tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Free water carton provided instead which didn't quite equate! Generally good value and good location.
