The Yankee Peddler Inn has no frills, but is a nice quaint place to stay and well-situated near Newport Harbor. The rooms are old but quiet and nice. The front desk staff was friendly and helped me with a couple items. The closet was missing hangers when I arrived but they were able to fix some. I also was able to get an iron to get the wrinkles out of my clothes. There's not a whole lot to this place. It is only 20 rooms and I was sleeping down the hall from the reservation desk. There's a upscale breakfast which I didn't experience but seemed nice. Also some rooms are very large ? my room had 2 queen beds. All in all, this place isn't going to blow you away, but if you're looking to save some money relative to the even pricier options nearby, the Yankee Peddler Inn is a good pick.

The staff needs to be friendlier. The seemed to think they were doing us a favor. They kept hinting that they were busy but only a few keys were out. They kept complaining about the parking, but there were plenty of spaces. The continental breakfast was very good. After noon tea was a help yourself to what was left. After I got over the shock of not having the room I saw on line and not being in the main house, it was an ok stay. However, I would not stay there again.

We just spent the night at the Yankee Peddler Inn and we will staying here again. The rate was very reasonable and the room was basic but very comfortable. We stayed in the Carriage house which is off the main house and contains 5 rooms. IIt was well within walking distance of all the shopping and eateries on the waterfront and parking was free in the inns lot. If you have ever tried parking in Newport- you know how valuable this commodity is! Continental breakfast and afternoon tea is included also.

Slept on futon bed; very lumpy mattress. Only other gripe was lobby of hotel run down; could do with a paint job! Room itself was very clean. Staff was extremely helpful and nice. Really enjoyed my stay.

The hotel staff was 1.5 hours late with check in - my girlfriend and I had to wait. They also lost about $50 worth of cheeses/salamis that we had purchased and put in the hotel fridge. The owner reimbursed us, but we would have rather not lost them at all. Besides that, the room was nice, the location was great. Easy to walk everywhere in Newport.
