Cleanliness. Location. Great hotel but a little out of the way.
Date of Stay:
July, 2008
Our first problem with the room was that the fold out couch had the dirty sheets from the previous guest on it. When we tried to call the front desk we found out the telephone was broken. The alarm clock was also broken - it didn't even display a time. The worst thing about the stay, however was the bites from bed bugs we discovered on all of us the next morning. One bed bug was still attached to my leg when I woke up. This is definately a hotel to avoid!!

Queen size beds. Needed repairs in the room, work out facility was closed, whirlpool was closed, poor air conditioning in breakfast area/public areas, fair housekeeping. The Wingate by Wyndham was not what was expected. It could have been much cleaner and there were obvious repairs to the room (ceiling and bathroom) that need to be made. Elevators were filthy. There was no air conditioning in the hallways or breakfast area. Having breakfast offered was a definite plus for us, however it was mediocre at best. The workout facility and the hot tub/whirlpool were not in working order throughout our 3 day stay. We asked to speak to the manager, but we were told that he was not in. We left a message, but were never contacted in regards to our concerns.

Checked in first room, there was a lot of hair on the bed, same on second room i tried. There were toenails on the floor, the complimentary soap was used and put back into the box it came in. The best part was a dirty pair of underwear behind the dresser in plain view. Cleaning crews barely cleaned the rooms.

Privacy. I might have been put in the wrong room but I didn't question it, no one else seemed to care. I thought there was supposed to be a hot tub and a bathtub/shower separate.

I don't have any complaint about this hotel

The staff was very friendly and the lobby was very clean. The smoke smell is our room and the toilet felt like it was going to fall off. This hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. It was down the street from the mall and about 10 minutes from Hershey. Down the street from the Pennsylvania Turnpike too. Some down falls. The toilet seemed felt like it was going to come out of place every time you used it and the smoke smell. Plus, our air didn't work.

The breakfast buffet. A very large spider in my room. Good buffet. Nice room. Very friendly and helpful staff.

This was a nice hotel. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. They offered a basic continental breakfast, which saved us some time. The evening front desk attendant was nice, although clearly over worked. There should have been one more person at the desk, as she had a hard time handling multiple guests and the phones at the same time.

Housekeeping was great. The smoke sector in room was broken & I had to ask for new sheet cause first ones had burn holes. The hotel overall is nice. About 12 minutes drive from Hershey Park and about 30-40 min from Lancaster County Attractions. The hotel offers a free breakfast every morning offering muffins, bagels, eggs, potatoes, and make your own Belgian waffles. Which was nice as we were on a budget. There is also a small refrigerator in the room. Only problem was although the sheets were clean they had burn holes from smoker (I was in a non smoking room). After complaining the sheets were promptly replaced.

Great hotel forstar level. Very friendly staff and clean rooms. Hotel was clean with friendly staff. The workout facility was small however. Great hotel for 2.5 stars.

Room's space, Breakfast, public facilities. It was a very nice experience.

Easy to get too; very friendly, helpful staff. There is not an indoor pool, only a whirlpool. Rooms are clean and acceptable but low end furnishings and beds. Did not sleep well since beds were uncomfortable. However, the prices for other hotels in the area were more then twice as expensive so this hotel was a good alternative for the budget conscious.

The room was large, the bed comfortable, and the idea of a hot breakfast. The bathroom was not completely clean (shower walls looked nasty), the furniture was superficially nice but faded and dirty, no liner for ice bucket. The room was on the executive floor so we thought it would be sweet. It was nice superficially and large, but could use some talc. The bathroom was nothing special esp. because the shower walls looked nasty and there was hair on the floor. The TV remote did not always work and the picture color on the TV was terrible. Breakfast was also not great.

Breakfast buffet. No restaurant. The hotel was clean and the personnel friendly. We arrived early and were able to be given a room ahead of our check-in time. When we needed directions, we were given typed ones to and from the hotel. It would have been nice to have some type of food service available after the breakfast, so one would not have to seek a restaurant outside the hotel. However, if visiting the area I would recommend it to others and would stay at a Wingate in other areas.

Clean with friendly environment. Continental breakfast was good.

Convenient to the local attractions. Non-smoking room smelled like stale smoke, front desk provided room freshener. Overall, the room and the hotel were very nice. The Jacuzzi was nice also, but it would have been better if there was a pool for my grandchild. The only downside to the room was the stale smoke smell even though it was a non-smoking room. The front desk staff and cleaning staff were very polite and helpful. The continental breakfast was very good also. My grandchild loved the do0it-yourself waffles.

Clean and comfortable room with a great breakfast and friendly staff. It was next to a cheap motel and almost shared the same parking lot so there where some sketchy characters around there.

I was pleasantly pleased with the hot continental breakfast. Needs thicker padding under carpets, very poor padding! Overall I found this hotel clean and comfortable. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.
