It was very clean and friendly and inviting. Phone in the room did not work well. There was a short in the cord. We reported it upon departure. My family had a great experience for our short stay at this hotel. Everything we needed was assessable and convenient.
Date of Stay:
January, 2009
We like the heated swimming pool, hot tub, free Wi-Fi, and of course, the free breakfast for the family. Nothing. We would love to come back here next year after our next trip from New York.
Date of Stay:
December, 2008
Excellent staff, nice pool/hottub, nice room with modern upgrades. Painting on our floor, could have moved us to another floor. Loved the hotel, nice upgrades. They taped the doors and the painters did everything possible to keep it out, but we still had to cover our mouths in the hallway.

The heated indoor pool was great to have during the winter. The full size beds are a little small and queen would be better. The hotel was very clean and comfortable overall. The staff was very friendly and very promt in getting back to me about my pillows that I left behind. They offered to FedEx them to me for a charge of course, but I am glad they tried to assist me in getting them back.
Date of Stay:
August, 2008
Comfortable beds and pillows. Poor communication about breakfast hours. This hotel has good location near a Perkins restaurant, beside Highway 95. Neither the clerk at check-in nor the hotel guidebook in the room told the hours of the complimentary breakfast. I called at 9:40 AM and was told it closed at 9:30. While checking out, I was told it had stayed open till 10. We had to go out and pay for six breakfasts at a restaurant. One room did not have a Do Not Disturb sign so the maids entered while we were still there.
Date of Stay:
July, 2008
Location. Very plain. Ice machines did not work on 3 of the 4 floors. Poor breakfast, it was free and that's what it was worth. Average in every way. Breakfast was disappointing. Ice machines did not work. One computer for public use. I needed to get a map and the single computer was unavailable.
Date of Stay:
May, 2008
Good location, great staff. Not the most comfortable beds. Located close to the Interstate. Kind staff. Rooms a little worn. Good breakfast.
Date of Stay:
March, 2008
Location. Slow front desk service, property not quite what I expected. Clean property, more like a 2 star than a 2 1/2 star in my opinion.

Location. The bed and rate. Stayed in nicer hotels for less. The location was convenient. Easy on and off and good midpoint for someone traveling from the north to the south. Continental breakfast was included which makes it nice for families with young children. I have stayed in higher rated hotels for less. The beds were just fine.

Convenient location and breakfast included. The staff was not helpful at all. The worst thing about this hotel was the staff. We did not have enough towels we called the front desk they said they would send some and we never got them. If the staff was friendly, helpful and, courteous I would have no problem with this hotel. the current staff seem like they do not care about anything at all.

Attractive place. Untrained staff without authority to make decisions. The hotel was overbooked and the night help did not want to give me the available room at the price I paid. We had to wait while he went around inspecting rooms looking for an available double but no double bed rooms were clean. It appeared the night help was not well trained and fearful of making a decision. The next morning my husband heard him complaining about me to the day manager as though I was disrespectful and rude which was not the case. I think he just did not want to get in trouble with his boss for having to give me a higher priced room so he placed blame on me. The room and place were nice but the poor customer service and untrained staff were disconcerting.

The professionalism and friendliness of the staff. Carpet was dirty (in our room). An exceptional stay for the money. If I go back to Fredericksburg, I will stay there again.

Great price and great service! Hotel had all the amenities anyone needs, workout room, pool, hot tub. It was clean. The staff was attentive and pleasant.

Rooms were bright, clean, and comfortable. Front desk clerk not outgoing. Awesome!

Newness. They did not have any hot water the morning of checkout. Nice place - would stay there again however they did not have any hot water the morning of check out - I understand things like that happened but I did not get the impression the staff was concerned at all - they did not even offer an apology or some type of credit or even a free drink or meal!
Date of Stay:
August, 2007
Location was conveniently located off major highway. Had all the necessary amenities. Would recommend for persons traveling to Fredericksburg, VA.
Date of Stay:
July, 2007
Large bathroom countertop. Chair in room was nasty. Furniture in the room old, musty, and dirty. Chair in the corner was so dirty I wouldn't even put my suitcase on it. My room door was unevenly mounted, and would not shut completely. Beds are very uncomfortable. Breakfast selection was scant, and the breads were old. Orange juice was more water than juice. Parking area was not lit!
Date of Stay:
June, 2007
Quiet rooms, good shower. No restaurants nearby, only fast food. Close to interstate but far enough away to be quiet.
Date of Stay:
July, 2005
This hotel was totally acceptable. The 2nd night hotel was totally unacceptable. The Wingate was a very enjoyable experience. The Hanover House in Ashland, VA was totally unacceptable. The accommodation were not clean and complete with cockroaches.
Date of Stay:
June, 2005
Very clean Breakfast could be earlier Clean, convenient to the highway and a marvelously efficient staff
