We had to attend a confernce in NYC and afterward we decided to stay a few days and visit friends and family in NJ. I grew up about 5 miles away. When we drove up to the hotel, I recognized it immediately and said to my (second) husband - "You're not going to believe this, but this is where I had my (first) wedding reception and spent the first night of my honeymoon (in 1973)." He said "You're not going to believe this, but this is where I spent the first night of my honeymoon with (his second wife)." We've been together 22 years and never knew about this connection before.Well, things have really changed. The entire hotel had been completely refurbished. The place is like BRAND NEW - everything. The service was great, the room were beautiful and comfortable and they even had a rubber duckie on the bath tub. We'd definitely stay again when we're back in the area and it's a relatively quick ride to Newark Airport and the residential neighborhood is much, much nicer than the area closer to the airport.

This was our second visit to the Wilshire Grand in less than 12 months and was as good as, if not better, than the first. Our arrival was delayed by 24hours owing to a flight cancellation, but the hotel managed the change,without any notice, with no charge.The service was excellent, the rooms extremely comfortable and clean, and the included breakfast included excellent fresh pastries and bagels. It is a very well managed establishment.Most of the guests seemed to fall within the categories of Wedding parties and business meetings unlike us who used the hotel as a convenient jumping off point for shopping expeditions into NYC and the excellent shopping malls in New Jersey. There are good commuter stations nearby in Orange and Bay Street with inexpensive all-day parking available.The staff at the hotel were always very attentive and courteous providing us with good directions and accepting packages at the front desk, ensuring that they were placed in our room.We will certainly stay there again!
