Poor experienceNo sense of welcome from grumpy receptionist. Very dated room with bath shower but no curtain. Bath taps so slow that running one would have taken for ever, so forced to stand holding shower head and struggling to get correct temp. On reporting it I was told that "it's a bath shower that's what you do" Poor experience for the money.

Lovely placeLovely hotel, lovely grounds, great food. Decoration was a bit shabby in places, but that's my only grumble.

Pleasant surpriseAlthough mainly a conference centre we enjoyed our one night stay. First room was far too hot but was changed for one with A.C. which was fine although plumbing (shower & WC) was poor . Chinese restaurant is excellent (one of the best chinese meals we have ever had try the mongolian duck middle course yum!) and reasonably priced . Theres also a couple of little pubs across the road . Gardens are beautiful a lovely peaceful place to sit out in the evening.

1 night in WillinghamThis hotel represents terrific value. My dinner on arrival was totally delicious ( there's a Chinese restaurant), my room was clean and quiet and the staff all polite and helpful. Breakfast was a bit basic.

The hotel is situated in a lovely village. The grounds of the hotel are very well maintained and if the weather is fine it would be a pleasant place to relax, unfortunately for us the weather for us was warm and damp. Our room was in the lodge. Access to the room was by a french door, which we had to leave ajar as there was no window in the room itself, as it was a very warm night, which did pose a security risk. The breakfast was spartan (choice of 3 cereals, toast, juice & fruit -maybe it's just me but I expected more variety! ) for those of us who do not wish to have a cooked breakfast, which my husband did have and said it was very nice.Overall it was a pleasant experience, and I probably would stay again.

Willingham House - June 09We stayed here for 2 nights and it was excellent. Nice rooms overlooking the garden. Quiet and with just the right levels of attentiveness from the staff.

A very pleasant place to stayFantastic setting, lovely Victorian building. Stayed in room 2 - fantastic view of the substantial rear gardens from large window. Bed comfortable. Room not in the best condition - wallpaper coming off in places and a bit of loose plaster in ceiling corner but added to the charm of the old building (and I'm a self-confessed perfectionist). Would have no problem recommending this hotel to others and would stay again.

A very enjoyable stayVery friendly and helpful staff; informal, relaxed atmosphere; a spacious, comfortable room perhaps needing refurbishment in the next year or two; attractive grounds; excellent Chinese Restaurant; convenient village location with bus service to Cambridge (where it's difficult to park); good value for money at the price we paid.

Willingham HouseExcellent hotel with first class facilities. Without asking for a change of room, we were offered another room as we were over the dining room and it was likely to be noisy due to it beng Saturday night. The room we exchanged to was even better than the first and looked out over the large grounds. Very impressed with the hotel.

Worth staying just to eat at the restaurant!Willingham House is a beautiful country house style conference facility that also doubles as a hotel. Its restaurant serves the best Chinese food I have ever enjoyed and the staff are courteous, friendly and always keen to make your stay a pleasant one. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are comfortable and furnished well. The decor in the rooms can be a little tired in places it is a minor point well overshadowed by all the advantages offered by this choice of accommodation.

Superb hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, they even made me a special Chinese meal to suit my requirements.

The whole place stank of stale Chinese food, if I hadn't driven all day to be there I would have not checked in. To make matters worse the restaurant was closed and the inclusive breakfast was stale cereal and a banana...Oh and undrinkable coffee.

I got locked in my bedroom. There was a lot of dust ontop of the wardbrobe which covered my suite carrier. The bathroom was in need of a lick of paint.
