What a treat! Loved the feel of north woods and the fireplace. Our room was clean, roomy and cute. The bathroom was very clean and loved the soap dispensers. Didn't have time to enjoy the pool, but next time. And there will be a next time!

Nice clean hotel at a reasonable rate. One nice feature is the array of pillows you can choose. I know that sounds funny, but I absolutely HATE those big thick king-size pillows that every other hotel seems to stock. They kill my neck. I usually have to bring a pillow from home or sleep without one. Not here! Of course, I didn't know that upfront and had my own pillow along...but I didn't use it. I used one of the ones they had to choose from on the bed. A free adult beverage at check-in was a nice touch too.

Everything about our stay was very good. We would definitely stay here again. This hotel offers a menu of pillow options and this was a wonderful choice. Beds are comfortable and the room had a lot of room to move about in. Wonderful stay.

From the dispensers in the shower and on the wall in the bathroom by the sink (how thoughtful to also place lotion there), to the prominent signs displayed asking guests to help the hotel be environmentally responsible, down to the reuseable/washable plates and silverware for the most delicious breakfast (ie, not using disposible styrofoam plates and plasticware that is trashed), this is the MOST eco-friendly hotel I've stayed in! Certainly the best in the area. How responsible they are to help us stay fit with an awesome pool and hot tub and loaner bikes so you can connect to a nearby trail. After a long day of recreation, it's nice to fall asleep in one of the super comfy beds. An A++ rating all around!

I think this property is so cool! What a warm and friendly feel, with an inviting lobby and "great room" fireplace. As an avid outdoors-woman, I can appreciate the adventure-oriented decor. This is EXACTLY how I want my vacation home to look like (when I get it...). The property is SPOTLESS, the pool is nicely laid out with a great big jacuzzi. There's a great fitness room, the food is amazing, the staff is SUPER nice and knowledgeable and the internet connection was steady (sometimes unusual, even in the best of hotels) and FREE (major bonus). I was so comfortable in the beds I *almost* slept in too late and missed my meetings :). I don't want to stay anywhere else next time I'm in Des Moines and I'll seek out this property anywhere else that I visit.

I booked based on other travel online reviews and the competitive price. It was excatly like everyone else said. Clean and comfortable. The wackey decor is...well...wackey, but way more interesting and fun than your average holiday inn. Perfect location for an I-35 north/south road trip.

"Nice get away hotel. All staff was excellent and very friendly! Bed & pillows were very comfy. Loved the dispensers in the bathroom, no messing around with bars of soap or bottles. We came for the hot tub and relaxation and it was perfect. Nice breakfast set-up also with plenty of choices, liked the toppings for the waffles. Thanks for a warm spot on a very cold weekend!"

We stayed here on our way to Topeka, KS and it was so nice and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good - more choices than just simply toast and coffee. Also, the pool was decent size and quite warm, which was nice for our kids. We liked it so much we stayed again on our way back from Kansas. Would definitely recommend. Also, it is conveniently located to Hwy 35 and also plenty of shopping and restaurants, which is great.

"Hotel & Pool was nice, rooms could use new carpet. We had a King Whirlpool room and the bed was great and pillows even better. Whirlpool bedside was great and the Large mirrors & Lights by the tub added to the romance!"

"We stayed here and got the Adventureland package...great atmosphere, loved the pool/hot tub, but the wonderful lady at the front desk was the best. Even remembered our name when we came back on our return trip! And good apples for a snack!"

"What a nice surpise for my associates and I when we arrived in Des Moines. I have never seen a corporate hotel that unique in a metro setting. The hotel is perfectly set up for the business traveler with the free drink at check in,high speed internt and the mobile business center. I travel 50% of the year and the seven layer bedding package at this property is my favorite so far. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone."

"I stay at the Wildwood everytime I am in Des Moines. I love the north-woods decor, the rooms are comfortable, and the staff is very friendly. The complimentary breakfast is much more elaborate than most hotel's."
