Description:
With a slogan that reads -clean sheets, hot water and stiff drinks-, the Whitelaw Hotel stands apart from the other boutique hotels with a fierce sense of humor, but never compromising on its fabulous amenities. Only a half a block from Ocean Drive, this hotel, like its clientele, is full of distinct personalities, pairing such disparate elements as luxurious Belgian sheets with shag carpeting to create a completely innovative setting. All-white rooms manage to be homey and plush and not antiseptic. Bathrooms are large and well stocked with just about everything you may have forgotten at home. Complimentary Cocktails in the lobby every night from 7-9pm contribute to a very social atmosphere. Frommers 2002- Rooms are Asian-inspired, equipped with low Japanese style beds, bamboo floors, TV, CD player and data port connections.

The Vibe Lounge: With black shag carpets, white vinyl sofas and groovy music in the air, Austin Powers would feel right at home in the lobby of the Whitelaw Hotel. No doubt, he'd want to hang out with the visiting hipsters enjoying free cocktails every evening from 8 to 10. The hotel attracts a young crowd, with more style than money, who come here to kick back and go out. The friendly staff will do their best to make sure you're on the list at the best clubs in town.

Next to shopping and beach. Loved it all. Great little find right in South Beach. Already booked another stay. Free drinks was a plus.

This hotel was relatively affordable and now I know why. It is great if you are 21 and looking for a party. Anyone else should stay somewhere else. The decor is tacky and the service is poor. The rooms are basic, with tvs that don't work, shotty air conditioning, limited hot water, and linoleum floors. Calls to front desk to fix tv appeared to be ignored. The happy hour was a joke - full of people who were not guests, with an expectation that a guest is supposed to shove, push and yell in order to get a drink. We gave up after first day and went elsewhere for a drink. There are a lot of hotels around South Beach that looked a lot better and were around the same price - wouldn't recommend the Whitelaw.

Modern & close in South Beach. In the middle of the action in South Beach. Modern, up to date and fun. In a great area with lots to do plus lots of shopping opportunities. One block from the beach. We had a great time there!

Me and my friends went to miami for the carnival. And right from the check-in we experienced problems with the staff when they couldnt find our reservation since they booked it at a sister hotel and didnt let us know, it took us 2hrs to finally check-in. There were ants in our room, the shower had no pressure and instead dripped. We didnt have light in our room for the three out of the four nights of our stay, the staff was very rude and unorganized when we alerted them of the problems in our room. WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN, but very good location.

The staff was really great. The room, hallway, lobby, etc. were dirty and run down. The location is great. The staff is great. There is no pool. The hotel lobby, hallway, and room was dirty, dark, smelly, a real dive.

This hotel is funky & clean - the location is fantastic - close to the beach & lots of places to eat & drink. The room was very pink but nicely designed, clean & comfy. The front desk at first seemed very uninterested in helping us & absolutely no early check-in however when we came back & actually checked in, they were nice. Valet parking was * but the public garage (walking distance) is * per 12 hours so ends up cheaper. The happy hour which was included in the room rate was pretty fun - the bartenders are pretty quick & witty and all seemed to have a good time.

Big TV, great location. Carpet was disgusting, leave garbage in hallway. They need to upkeep the hotel, its too old and the floor is really dirty. Room was good though. location was great.

Me and 3 friends went to celebrate my birthday for like 8 days in august;I couldn't believe how awesome this hotel was. First, the front desk people were really kind, and offer us not only free and vip passes for clubs, but even happy hour inside the hotel. Second, we loved the decoration and the music. If someone is looking for the perfect spot, near the best south beach clubs, to have fun with their friends, this is the place. The rooms were great also! I can't wait to come back again.

It was clean, interesting decor, well located - proximity to beach and shops was excellent. Hotel was were friendly and helpful. The internet Wi-Fi did not come up to my room so I always had to go to the lobby to access the internet. Whitelaw Hotel comes highly recommended to anyone looking for a decent place to stay, it's clean, near the shops, restaurants and beach. It's very reasonably priced as well.

This hotel it's perfect. Perfect location, just a block or so away from the beach. Perfect decoration, i loved the modern vibe. Perfect staff, they were really nice and helpful. I would really stay there again if I have a chance. The only thing, it was hard to park the car but thankfully they had valet parking so it was toootally worth it! Me and my boyfriend had lots of fun.

Nice decor. Great location. The Whitelaw was a very good place to stay for people watching and you are in walking distance to anything you want to do. Valet parking. A very friendly staff and clean rooms, well stocked. Mini fridge and snacks. Flat screen TV. Nice bar and good bartenders. Prices are high, like everything in South Beach.

Location. My boyfriend and I greatly enjoyed staying here. The location and atmosphere was perfect for our trip. We would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Miami!

This hotel needs some work. The renovations were not well done. No towels in my room upon arrival. Uneven floor in the hallway. For the price, this is a great hotel for a young single person who is in South Beach to hang out and party. It is perfectly located on Collins Avenue, one block off of Ocean Drive. The lobby is small but interesting decorated. The bar area takes up most of the space in the lobby and there is loud music blaring all night. Hotel guest are treated to a free happy hour from 7-9 pm (house drinks of course) but if you are young and on vacation it makes for a good way to meet other guests. I would not recommend anyone traveling with their spouse, kids, or on business stay at this hotel. And if you are accustomed to nice accommodations this hotel will not suit you, although on the surface it appears decent at first glance. The hotel appears to have been renovated recently but the renovations were poorly done. The floors in the hallway are uneven in a manner that is almost dangerous for guest to walk on. The finishing work lacks attention to detail, and the rooms are very small (and cramped with furniture).

It is near to the beach and that's it. Unfriendly staffs, decoration, bugs and parking. If you are not on the beach or party all day and stay in the hotel for more than 6 hours, this hotel is not for you.

The location and nothing else. Awfully service. The hotel did not had enough towels, someday none, the wake up call never worked, the corridors are dirty, very noisy (from my bedroom I could hear everything that going on, on the corridors), did not have a door or curtains for the shower, so after shower the bathroom was like a pool and did not had a rug to put on the floor, no hand or face towels. Overall was a terrible experience and the hotel was extremely expensive for what it offers. Absolutely not recommended. In my check out they charge me extrabecause it is a historical building without saying anything about when I check in. Bad very bad.

The room , the animation and the staff is excellent. The noise in the reception and the air condition.

The location is awesome, but it's not worth staying there even for its location.
