Westwood Country Hotel - OxfordWe found the hotel very good and within easy reach of both Oxford and Newbury (for the races). It was very clean , the service was very good and the staff very helpful. The one down side was that the bar closed promptly at 11pm which bearing in mind its location we found quite restricting.

Excellent HotelWe chose this hotel after reading other peoples reviews and were not disappointed. The hotel is situated in its own grounds and our room overlooked the beautiful gardens. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. There was a wedding taking place on the saturday night so we werent allowed to use the hotel bar or restaurant but this didnt cause us a problem as we prefer to go out and explore anyway and the music seemed to stop around midnight. Our room was very clean and bright. The hotel is 3 miles outside Oxford but there was a bus stop just outside with buses that run every half hour and is £3 return per person, the best place to get off in Oxford is St Aldates. Also worth a visit is a climb up the tower of The University Church of St. Mary the Virgin, High Street, for excellent views across the city.

Great room at a good priceEnjoyed our stay at the Westwood. We were given a garden room that had a door out onto our own little patio with a table and chairs. The room was large and the bathroom was a decent size too. Breakfast was excellent - all cooked to order.

Clean and comfortableGood clean and comfortable bedroom with nice bathroom. Breakfast was very nice although not enough tables had been set for all guests to dine.

Matches its descriptionThis is indeed a splendid hotel in a beautiful garden, in the hills just West of Oxford. The room was spacious and most attractive, very quiet at night and with a glorious view in the morning. The en-suite facilities were modern, with a particularly easy to use shower. For keen walkers, it is a pleasant ninety minutes from the centre of Oxford, but you need a decent map to navigate the numerous footpaths through the hills. In the daytime there is a bus stop just down the road.

ExcellentAt first we were given a very small room with a miniature shower room, but when I asked whether there was an alternative, I was shown two others and we moved to a more spacious room with a decent bathroom and access to the garden. I was very impressed that the staff were so obliging about the move.

Week-end stay in OxfordWoodland setting, clean and friendly hotel only 3 miles from Oxford centre.Take the no.31 bus from just a hundred yards outside the hotel into Oxford for only £3 return per. adult. We found a local pub called the Fox (Boars Hill turning) one and a half miles from hotel, this had good food and prices.Takes half an hour to walk or just 5 minutes by car. The hotel was very good value because we got a special week-end deal when booked with Late rooms.com. I would not have paid the full price quoted through the hotel direct.

our stay at westwoodwe really enjoyed our stay at westwood, it was a stop over on route to dorset where we spent the rest of the week in a caravan, so we valued our stay with you. The reduced rate was very welcome and was a real bonus.

Nice hotelNice hotel in nice setting. Problem over Late Rooms booking meant I wasn't on system. They helpfully found me a room at a nearby hotel for the last night of my stay. Out too early for breakfast but on one night they left continental for me which was appreciated. Ate in one night. Food ok but bit pricey for my taste. TV in room was past it but just about worked, otherwise clean, tidy, comfortable and would use again just for somewhere to stop over on business.

weekend wonderthe hotel and staff were both more than we expected hotel very quite and angelic staff all very helpfull and could not do enough for you l am in a wheelchair and they sorted out the best and easiest room for us to get into it is so clean the only thing that let it down was they never opened the bar or resturant so when we got back after having a meal we had to go to our room and watch tv because if you wanted a drink you had to drive to find a pub which defeats the object but would tell friends and family about the hotel and would go back again

Westwood Country hotelSituated at the edge of woodland at the rear and on the outskirts of Oxford. Excellent , friendly and very helpful staff, both on reception and in the restraunt. Nice quiet hotel.Three minutes walk to the bus stop into the city centre. Drop off on return is virtually opposite the hotel entrance. Busses are every 30 minutes.Recomended.

we love staying in this hotel our son lives in oxford and can meet us for an evening meal relax in our room watch tv and chat before getting a taxi home. Unfortunately we all ordered the lamb this time and did not enjoy, I must not be over critical because our meal the last time we stayed was very good. Also a couple on another table were raving about their meal so perhaps the lamb was a bad choice on the night.

Nice 'country hotel', good conections (bus) to centre of Oxford, but some road noise.Very nice, comfortable hotel, in woods. Although only 3 miles from Oxford it is not walkable as along dual-caridgeway, but very close to a very good park and ride, and bus stop almost opposite hotel (buses every 30 mins in daytime and hourly in evening until 1130). Saw a deer whilst having breakfast!!, You do get some road noise if facing that way (which you problably will be as laterooms customers always seem to get least salubrious room).

Westwood was a welcoming and wonderful experience! The Westwood Hotel is set in lovely surroundings. It has it's own little lake and walking area in the woods next to it. Inside it is very clean and welcoming. There is a lovely bar area to sit and drink comfortably. In nice weather you could sit outside on the terrace. There is a restaurant on site but we didn't eat in so can't comment. The breakfast however is lovely with the usual array of juices, cereals, breads and providing a full English cooked breakfast. The staff were particularly excellent. Extremely friendly, pleasant, professional and most helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to you all. Even better when you get a bargain on Laterooms!

Lovely country hotelWe had a lovely stay in this country hotel. It's a 10 minute drive out of Oxford City, however there is a bus stop out the front to take you into town. The rooms were lovely with very comfortable beds, ensuring a good night's sleep.
