The Westmark Hotel Anchorage is located in downtown Anchorage. It is adjacent to the William A. Egan Convention Center, and across the street from the Imaginarium Science Center. The Alaska Center for the Performing Arts is nearby. It is just blocks away from the 5th Avenue Mall.
The Westmark Hotel Anchorage has shuttle service to the Ted Stevens International Airport, about ten miles away. A Mover bus stop is across the street from the hotel.
The hotel has 200 air-conditioned rooms and suites, equipped with the standard amenities such as free high-speed wireless Internet, cable TV and WebTV, and coffeemakers. Each room has a curved-front balcony.
The Westmark Hotel Anchorage has views of the Chugach Mountains that surround Anchorage. Cook Inlet is also in view. There is an online restaurant, the Solstice Bar and Grill that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also an authentic Sushi Bar. There are conference rooms and meeting facilities for banquets and special events. Room service is available. A gift shop is open during the tourist season.

This hotel is just really dated and really dumpy, if we weren't going on a cruise with Holland America and had already paid for the room we'd have been out of there.

Staff was wonderful. Even stored our bags while we were wt Denali for 2 days. The restaurant was good, but a little pricey for what we got. The brew pub across the street is a lot of fun, and a little cheaper (not much).

Older but recently renovated hotel. Large clean rooms with comfortable beds. Nice breakfast buffet. Staff very friendly & courteous. We would stay here again.

The hotel was very accommodating and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, spacious. When we checked in the manager upgraded us to a larger room for the same price that we booked thru Travelocity - WOW. Service in the restaurant was very, very slow, but the food, when it finally arrived, was great. We were in walking distance to everything in town and we enjoyed ourselves very much. We will definitely return to the Westmark!

I like staying in this hotel in downtown Anchorage because of it's quality and location. It is within easy walking distance to most downtown attractions, the 5th Avenue Mall and a good variety of great restaurants and bars. Parking is very easy and convenient with a lot of on-site spaces, with overflow 1/2 block away at the downtown parking ramp (free for hotel guests). The hotel is older, but has always been kept up in perfect condition and is very comfortable.

Expensive rate as it is quite dated-probably needs a little revamp in bathrooms. A little over rated. Bell boys excellent. Adjoining restaurant excellent. Yes, noisy if your room is on side where buses stop.

The Westmark Anchorage Hotel was typical of this class of hotels. The room was fine and a little larger than ordinary. However, the restaurant was terrible. The first meal that I ate there was breakfast. The scrambled egs were cold and the ham burned on the edges. The next day, I ate lunch at the hotel because it was raining fairly hard and I was being picked up by a shuttle to take me to a cruise. Most of the outside of the burger was burned on both sides. I tried to cut the burned portions off thinking I would be able to eat the unburned inside. I wasn't able to do so because the inside was raw. I'd consider staying at the hotel again, but I would resign myself to having to go out to eat, even if it were pouring rain.

The service was amazing but the rooms were showing signs of age and wear. Updating them would make this first class. The restraunt has a wonderful sushi bar but the cafe was not all that it was cracked up to be.

I expected more from the Westmark. Trash was still in the room when I checked in. Had to ask for coffee and cups two of three days. Shampoo removed and never replaced. Floor never vacuumed. Parking was extra. Had to wait to check in...rooms not ready. For Anchorage, location was fine.

the Westmark in Anchorage has a very friendly and helpful staff. It is also in a great location downtown next to plenty of great restaurants, the performing arts center, coffee shops, tourists attractions and even a quick walk to the Tony Knowles Coastal Path which is highly recommended. Beds were comfortable, room was clean, view from the rooms balcony overlooking Cook Inlet was beautiful. Try to get higher up in the hotel for a better view. I was only on the fifth floor and would request to go a further up next time.

The Westmark Anchorage is in a great location for visitors. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. We were given a larger room at no cost at check in and we were also allowed a later check out time. There are plenty of dining and shopping options all within a few blocks.

"This is the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. The lobby is very nice, but the rooms don't measure up to the first impression. The cable didn't work, there was no cold water in the sink, and we were only provided with two towels. They did bring more when we called to complain."

The Westmark Anchorage Hotel Excellent location, amenities, service. However, the room had an older decor. It also had cigarette odor even though it was designated as a no smoking hotel. Just needs a fresh renovation and it will be suitably comfortable.
