The hotel and staff were very attentive. Our room was upgraded at not extra cost to the 9th floor with specticular view. The room was always clean. It was close to the marina for diving and bus route into the city. The only down side was all the time share people always pursing you, everywhere you went.

First trip to Puerto Vallarta. This Westin was the most beautiful hotel that I have ever stayed in. Absolutely breath-taking. Excellent food. Very clean. Excellent staff. The most amazing swimming pools. I can't say enough about this Westin. I can't wait to go back.

This was our second trip to Puerto Vallarta but the first trip was a one day stay during a cruise. The Westin always delivers good quality, excellent staff and great customer service. You can't really go wrong with the chain. DO NOT GET ROUND TRIP TRANSFERS. The driver will make you feel you need to tip 20 and a taxi ride to the hotel actually only costs 5 so the transfer price plus tip grossly outweigh the cost of just getting a taxi to and from the airport. Also, with a taxi you aren't looking around for someone with a sign to pick you up which makes you a sitting duck for timeshare (aka free breakfast) spiels. We went on an excusion to Las Caletas (arranged through the hotel concierge) and it was great. Everyone was very nice on the boat and at Las Caletas. Definately recommend this trip. We also did the Predator canopy ride (also arranged through the concierge) and it was fun although the walking uphill in the heat was a little brutal. The stop at the tequila factory after was fun and all the people were really nice. The hotel had limited choices in restaurants but the location was convenient enough to be able to go elsewhere. Bring or buy bug spray there because in the evening, the mosquitos really do attack. All in all it was a good trip but not for those who can't take the heat.

We enjoyed our time at the Westin. The hotel staff is very friendly. We ate at Dante's at the marina and it was awesome. We also went horseback riding at the El Rancho Campo which was incredible. Do NOT purchase the global card from orbitz. It doesn't work well and to call out of the hotel using an 1800 number will cost you $5 bucks. Otherwise, it was a nice and relaxing time.

I never slept better! The beds/pillows were wonderful! The balcony was relaxing, view awesome! Having to pay extra to use the coffee/tea bags in the room. This hotel was wonderful. Clean, attractive, it was decorated with such beautiful pictures and artwork. The staff was friendly and helpful. We could exchange money at the front desk with no charge. At the end of our stay we were charged for using the business center (which we didn't use). When I went to pay, I told the staff about the charge, they had me sign something stating I didn't use the business center and took it off my bill. You could go parasailing right from the beach!

We were disappointed, mostly by the little things that irritate one. Not a pen or pencil in the room. No hotel services guide. One wastepaper basket for almost 600 square feet. Noisy overhead fan. Dehumidifyer in the room was too noisy to run. Sink stopper wouldn't hold water. No USA Today delivered to the room. Broken chair by the desk. No phone book in the room. Charge you for everything...now these prices are USA $...$7/person to use the fitness center, local calls $2/call, international 800 #s $4/call. , $10.50 for three hours of internet in the room...$19 all day. Business center $3.50 for 30 minutes on the internet..$7/hr. $2/copy to print. So, to print off a boarding pass...it could cost you $7.50. We were there Feb 8-11...and a jackhammer ran all day long right beside the southern pool. There is really no beach to speak of. The panoramic view of the Centro and Hotel District is blocked out by a 12-floor time share and another 30-story time share being built. To us, it seemed like a hotel designed for conventions where all the people are on expense accounts. Cannot comment on the food as we ate all our meals at the Marina. It seemed we were a quarter mile to the front desk and another quarter mile to the pool. This is not a hotel to really experience the city and people of PV. While we are adults without children..I think we like the adults only, smaller hotels where they greet you with champaign, cold towels and a back rub. This was our 6th trip to Mexico in five years and we will not come back to this hotel as it doesn't fit us.

We booked an ocean view room for an additoinal fee. None of their rooms are ocean view. We received a view of the pool and palm trees and were told well, that's what you booked. Upon calling Travel website, we were told again, the hotel says that is what you booked. To add to our frustration, the Westin's timeshare property is attached which added a lot of people and children to the two pools that were working, (one was under construction and yes there was perpetual banging heard throughout the stay). Not to mention the crappy mold in the bathroom and inability of the staff to show any hospitality what so ever. Save your money and staff somewhere else. This place isn't a Westin by any means, sense, or appearance. Go somewhere else! Believe me I have traveled often and to many places and have never, ever been treated so poorly!

The rooms were great, my daughters loved the bathrooms. View was great, great staff, service was first class. Food at the hotel was top notch. Service was super, cater to the clients very much. Always called you by your last name Mr.______ so and so always a smile and great attitudes.

The pool, beach Nikkei bar. The breakfast buffet seemed to be out of everything at the same time, all the three days we ate there. The hotel was beautiful. Good location and very nice staff.

This hotel is in the Marina Vallarta location, which has great shopping and restaurants. Porto Bello is the best of the reastaurants in the Marina, with outstanding Italian food reasonably priced. The hotel is 20 minutes via taxi from the downtown area, about 80 pesos (less than $10). Its only a 5 minute cab ride from the airport. The beach is not a great beach, but if you just walk north on the beach you will come to a very nice one. The pools are nice, and the view from the hotel overlooking Banderas Bay is outstanding. We would stay here again if we were to visit in the future.

I just got back from my cousin's wedding at The Westin and WOW...what a trip. The resort is simply beautiful! Such a great deal for the price. I will def. go back and maybe even get married there some day. The wedding that these people hosted for my cousin was the best I've ever been to. Fireworks even! Thankyou Westin!

Swimming pool was probably the best aspect of the hotel. They charge for the workout facility. Hotel seemed a little tired. Massive hotel, not very intimate. Hotel is a massive complex in an area of PV with other massive hotel complexes. There isn't anything really unique about the place, decent service, and decent amenities. Overall, it's an average place if you're looking for this type of hotel. Tough to call it a 4 star on a 5 star scale.

This hotel has beautiful rooms and grounds, but the food is not good and is overpriced. We prepaid for a night and at checkout, the hotel still tried to charge us for the prepaid room. This dispute is on-going. The beach is small and disappointing. Avoid this hotel unless you get a bargain price. Stay someplace else!

A very welcoming lobby entrance with a staff that was friendly and most informative. We were given a complimentary lunch ticket from the front desk because we had to wait 3 hours for our room to be prepared -mind you we arrived on a Sunday at 12 noon. So we headed to the Beach Bar for 2 hours and asked the Bartender to notify the front desk if our room was ready. It was good to go! Had a problem with the toilet, but the staff fixed it within 30 mins. The Pergolas made my hubby and I feel like "king & queen" - the waitress was always accommodating with food, wine and a smile. The pools are refreshing and plentiful. The view of the ocean, pools, other side of PV and the unforgettable Pirate Ship from the 9th floor is okay - the time share building is slightly in the way. The restaurants are pricey but good. The lobby bar had 2 Happy Hours. The business center had to be used for our "about to be late" cell bill - most convenient. Room service was awesome & fast. We would definitely come back, especially with our kids!

Clean, beautiful, comfortable, friendly, classy place. Too expensive! Even the coffee packet in the room was $4! Pool chairs were unavailable by midday, beach seating costs $75 per day. This hotel was recommended to us by friends. There were many beautiful features and were charged for every little extra! Meals and drinks were outrageously expensive, pool chairs were impossible to find during the day. We felt they "nicked and dimmed" us at every turn.

Decided on a last minute deal a week before we left and couldn't have been happier. The Westin was a wonderful hotel/resort. It was beautiful and the staff were excellent. I had booked a standard room and with one quick request was upgraded to a room with a spectacular room. However, I really don't know how you'd have a bad view and it seems all the rooms are ocean view. Location was excellent with the Marina and all of it restaurants were very handy. We walked there each evening and had a selection of any type of food you'd want. We golfed at the Marina and the Vista golf courses which were beautiful. Can't say we really ate at the resort because of the offerings else where. But would DEFINITELY recommend this Westin to anyone!

We were greeted after a long journey by plane and car by the Westin staff at the door. The front desk was pleasent and friendly. The room was WONDERFUL WITH THE BELCONY OVER LOOKING THE POOLS AND BEACH. The beds and bedding were so comfortable. The big plush white towels were wonderful after a nice hot shower. The staff around the pools and in the spay/ gym and the resturants were so friendly. P greeted us every day and evening and was always ready to get us a cab. O was so sweet he showed us to our room and explained everything we needed to know since this was our first trip to the Westin. We will definately return to the Westin. Our experince was wonderful.
