Spent most of our days at the pool enjoying drinks and snacks. Kids also participated in kids activities held at the pool and indoors. Kids told us this was the "best vacation ever" Really a nice balance between kids activities and adult relaxation. Also - the dining close by to the hotel was fantastic - so much to select from and at all price ranges.

Very pleasant and relaxing. A bit far from ASU. This hotel was great. We really enjoyed the stay.

Preface; The weather was ideal and we had an upgraded room on the fifth floor that faced north over the lake and golf course. My wife and I are locals and were looking for a spot to celebrate my birthday. There are alot of places to choose from in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area and we have tried many of them for a quick get away. Overall, this was as good an experience as I have ever had at a hotel-resort. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing whether you want to take a walk around or just plop down and have a drink. The multi level lobbey area was like being on a cruise ship with a meriad of activities to celebrate the new 007 movie release. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable and the double headed shower novel. Do yourself a favor and eat at the upscale Deseo restaurant. Chef knows what he's doing when it comes to flavors. His dishes are flavorful and unique without overpowering the taste of the entree itself. He prepared us small portions so we were able to try several of the menu items and they were all special..."have you tried the shrimp",OMG try the sea bass; "I can cut the beef with my fork"; "have you tried this thing yet". If I had to order a single entree I don't know which I'd select. The weekend was not inexpensive but it was exctly what we were looking for and more.

We vacationed with two children, 13 and 11. The resort staff was polite, eager to please. They went out of their way to acknowledge us and our needs. Pool was great. Lazy River was the best (especially after visiting the pool bar). Housekeeping was wonderful, when we wanted to sleep in, left late, they were always right there to clean up when they got the chance. Beds were just like home, down comforters and the linens smelled wonderful! Bagpipe player was great! Watched while eating dinner at the cafe. Golf course was beautiful. Pool staff waited on us had and foot, always delivering fresh pitchers of ice water to each and every guest at the pool. It was great. I have a new found love of the Westin and will continue to book stays w/them in other cities. My family would love to revisit the Westin Kierland Resort! Area was beautiful, resort was worth every penny! They also welcome pets, although we vacationed without ours! MUST SEE!

We had a great Memorial Day weekend at the Westin Resort and Spa in Scottsdale. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the pool area was perfect.

Very comfortable. Service staff helpful overall. Spent a day at the on-site spa; recommend the massages and facials. Also did a complimentary yoga class which was fun. Certain things were on the pricy side (room service, valet parking, etc.) versus comparable level hotels in other cities--Dallas and Kansas City, for example--but service was good/speedy. Lots of business travelers while I was there, so things were pretty crowded, esp for summer in Phoenix! Hotel (other than lobby/bar area) was pretty quiet, considering the number of guests. Check out Kierland Commons across the road for shopping and other restaurants, or try Scottsdale Road for the same.

The resort and rooms are very nice. And we would like to stay there again BUT We had bugs in our room (possibly fleas) that were getting worse each night. Finally we asked for a room change after 3 nights of being bit up, which they did without reservation, however They made us feel like we had done something wrong and didn't offer to compensate us in anyway. Not that we expect a free trip but for 3 nights it was very disturbing and this is our one vacation for the year and it ended up being a bit disappointing.

What a fabulous place! The location allowed us to take a breathtaking drive through the montains to Sedona, evenings in Tempe and old Scottsdale, and mountain hiking. Two glorious afternoons by the pool, evenings by the fire outdoors. Couldn't have been better!

Recently stayed and had a nice time. Hotel needs some improvement on customer service. Not terrible, but room for improvement. Dinner was good, but took way to long for food delivery. Seemed a bit understaffed. Hotel check in was terrible. Not enough people to help on a holiday weekend. Stood in line way to long. Pool service was excellent. Great pool and clean.

For a relatively expensive "resort," this Westin leaves much to be desired. Despite having requested an early check-in, our room was not ready even at 6:30 pm. The a/c in the room was on the fritz. Westin does not provide facial-quality soap. The restaurants are inadequate to the number of guests the hotel will accomodate - altho, fortunately, there are some good alternatives nearby. The staff, altho friendly, does not seem very knowledgeable.

The Westin Kierland was a great vacation destination for my wife and I. It was our first trip without the kids and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The resort is both family oriented and yet intimate and quiet enough for couples. We were never distracted by the families with children and there were plenty of little ones arounds. It appeared that resort staff did an excellent job keeping the families busy, which in turn created a lot of peace and quiet for adults. When you compound all of the amenities on site with the Kierland Commons retail center adjacent to the resort, we rarely used our rental car.

The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, AZ is a first-rate hotel. Location is superb, the facilities are impeccible and the spa is exquisite. The room was heaven, and the service and staff were just wonderful. We love Westin hotels, and this one did not disappoint. Luxurious yet not ostentacious. The restaurants' cuisine was delicious, and room service was the best we've had anywhere. Concierge and Bell staff were excellent. Wonderful place to stay.

The Westin Kierland was incredibly attractive and appealing inside and out. Very comfortable and classy rooms with an attentive staff and the best beds I've ever slept in at a hotel. The pool facilities were excellent, especially the lazy river to tube around. Any requests were immediately addressed and handled. Lobby areas were gorgeous and inviting and the breakfast we had each morning in the restaurant was top notch with custom made omelettes. I loved having both a shower area and a tub in the bathroom and the marble counters were very classy. Great view of the golf course and the mountains from our room and the balcony was set up for relaxing.

The customer service was wonderful, very friendly staff everywhere...at check-in, concierge, dining, pool and spa areas. Our family had a great time at the lazy river, slide and regular pools; spent many hours there! And the kids loved the day at the Kids Club..and we had a very relaxing couples massage at the spa.

"It should be noted that the villas are a separate property (half mile away) and provide different amenities than the resort. We stayed at the villas. Nice room, but very poor water pressure. Very few amenities at the villas themselves but if you don't mind a LONG walk or a short drive to the resort, they had better offerings in food, pools, etc. Sales staff kept pressuring us to attend a sales pitch even tho we did not have any intentions of purchasing."

The staff at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa are more than willing to help their guest in anyway possible. The rooms are very clean and the views of the mountains were breath taking. The beds are outstanding, a great nights sleep for anyone. There are several restaurants to choose from and the evening serenade to the sunset with the bagpiper is something you cannot miss.

"In an area that features a lot of charming southwest architecture & decor, the rooms are very bland. The tiny balconies seem almost like an afterthought rather than an amenity--especially for $*/night. And for that price, internet access should be free instead of $12/day. The hotel is very comfortable but lacking the charm or luxury feel one would expect for the price."

...wow! Everything was outstanding! The staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. We always had fresh towels, we were offered turndown service, and the bath products are excellent. Our room was wonderful and very comfy with a great view. The bathroom was amazing! Separate dual-head shower and tub, marble counter, huge mirror and great lighting. Also a separate vanity area just inside the door to the room. One of the pools stayed open 24 hrs, so we were able to go to the pool after dinner. The other pool, which had a lazy river and water slide, wasn't nearly as crowded as we anticipated. We were served drinks right in the pool, too. The workout room was small, but very well equipped. And the restaurants...all I can say is YUMMY! We only stayed a few days, unfortuately, so were weren't able to hit all the restaurants. But we did get to deseo, Nellie Cashman's, and Waltz & Weiser. We also had drinks at The Rim and J. Swilling's. It was nice to be able to grab a drink and go sit at the fire pit and listen the the bagpipes from 7pm-8pm. And the staff kept an eye on everyone to see to their needs. The concierge suggested a great place for horseback riding, and we signed up for that and had a great time there, as well. I would have loved to hit the spa, but we didn't have time for that. Guess that means we'll have to go back! Oh, and you are right next door to Kierland Commons, too. There are some wonderful shops and restaurants there, too! I can't wait to plan our next trip to the Phoenix area...we'll definitely be staying at the Westin Kierland!

This is a fabulous hotel in a great location! The pool was wonderful. My son LOVED the lazy rive and beach style entry to the pool. The service was fabulous. They don't miss a beat! We'll make it a point to return!
