Enjoyed everything. Would be great if they have hawaiian entertainment at the pool or somewhere where we can relax, hear the hawaiian music and enjoy the sunset at the hotel

Just returned and would highly recommend this hotel for families. We could not get our kids out ofd the the pool! The beach was fabulous and the snorkeling right on the beach was outstading...better than Balck Rock and much better than the paid for snorkeling cruises. We loved this resort and would highly recommend! The staff was vwery attentive and helpful. I can't say enough good things about this resort! We had a one bedroom on the first floor of building 6. WE had a great view out of our room and could go to the pool right out the slider door.

This was one of the best family vacations we have taken! The resort was beautiful. The rooms were nice. The pool and beach absolutely perfect. We didn't want to leave and wish we could have stayed a little longer. The staff was terrific. We planned several excursions through the concierge staff prior to our arrival and during our stay they helped guide us to lots of other beautiful places to see in Maui and we were impressed by it all. Our family had a blast! Can't wait to come back! We will definately stay at the Westin Villas in Ka'anapali! The day of our departure our flight wasn't leaving until 10:30 p.m. and we had to be out of our room by noon. After we spent the day at the pool and beach we were offered very nice shower facilities for the family to get ready in and a nice lounge area to relax a bit before leaving to catch our flight.

When I made the booking I was a bit apprehensive after reading the mixed reviews, although most were positive. Our experience turned out to be a very positive one. We had a one bedroom apartment with partial ocean view (eventhough we had paid for an island view room). I had requested a unit in the north tower which is the newer of the two towers and the staff was very accomodating in placing us in our requested area. The unit was very well appointed and comfortable with a nice balcanoy and fully applianced kitchen. There are barbecues throughout the property which come in very handy in quick food preperation. The pools were great (water was a bit cold perhaps in part due to the windy weather). Beach area was nice and overall the property was very well cared for. The staff was very helpful, polite and nice. I would definetly go back again with my family. A great resort for families with kids.

My husband and I stayed in an Ocean View Studio. We thought it was the perfect size for just the two of us. The room was very clean and stocked with the basic bathroom and kitchen amenities. The Westin heavenly bed truly was heavenly. Our kitchenette had everything except a stove (which we didn't mind). The resort grounds are beautifully maintained and the pools/hot tubs are fantastic. The resort never seemed crowded even though we were told that most of the rooms were occupied when we were there. The gas grills were great for cooking out in the evening. I would definitely recommend this resort to couples and families.

Spent a week in Bldg 7, 6th floor studio with incredible ocean view. Bed very comfortable, quiet location, staff friendly, small amount of kitchen counter space, dishwasher, washer and dryer in unit. Garden tub, dual head shower, perfect for single or couple. Grills available in pool area of each building. 1 bedroom units have much larger kitchen and living area, larger balcony Can't wait to go back. Location of resort is convenient and a short drive to Safeway, general store on premises. Much more economical to cook yourself. On-site restaurants on the expensive side.

Let me start off by saying the Villas are beautiful and the rooms are well decorated. The staff, restaurants and grounds are great. We arrived a little early was unable to check in until the promised 4pm check-in. My only complaint is that anything, and everything comes with a price. Nothing can be rented or borrowed, everything must be purchased --even lounge chairs. I can understand cabanas or special chairs, but regular chairs, unbelievable. Towels had to be turned in with cards, which became annoying since the towel bar closed at 6. Which meant we were stuck with wet, old towels all night, which we had to bring back down to trade in for new ones. Check out is at an alarming 10am. Cleaning is only completed every 3 days, which is not the best for families that go to the beach everyday. Finally we upgraded to have a "Deluxe Ocean View" room that wasn't so "Deluxe" or didn't have much of an "Ocean View." I could see a few inches of ocean behind the 3 large trees obstructing my view. No robes, slippers, turn-down service -- things that we have come accustomed from much cheaper Starwood resorts.

The best hotel we stayed in on Maui. The only complaint we had is that we should've stayed longer! We had a room that was ADA compliant and everything was just perfect. We will return.

My wife and I traveled to Maui as a vacation/anniversary trip. We looked at different hotels and resorts for several days trying to find just the right one. I'm very glad we decided on this one. I can't think of a single thing the hotel could have done to make our trip better. Our room had a partial view of the ocean, a full view of one of the pools, and a nice view of the fish pond and pristine landscaping. Our room was very clean and was equipped with a full-size refrigerator, microwave, cooktop, dishwasher, clothes washer/dryer, large tub with jets, and a VERY comfortable bed. Everything appeared to be new and in great condition. The staff was very friendly and we often heard comments such as "is there anything I can do to make your stay more comfortable sir." Security was always visible and moving around, and check-in/check-out was very fast and efficient. The two restaurants we tried had good food (a little pricy, but what isn't in a Maui tourist location?) There were a lot of children at the resort, but my wife and I were still able to find plenty of quiet spots to relax. If I try really hard to find a fault or negative comment, it would have to be the timeshare pitch that one employee presented to us, but even this was not a problem because when I told her we would not be interested, she immediately dropped it and was not pushy at all. This is not the case at other resorts. When I return to Maui I will not even look at other hotels, I am definitely a returning customer. This is one of the better places that I have stayed and I have traveled in 39 states and 6 other countries.

The setting was beautiful...the room was nice and cleaned well everyday. The room wasn't in a good location and it made the stay somewhat difficult. It was situated just above the outdoor kitchen and was very loud, voices/plates/carts at all hours from early morning to late at night - also it didn't look nice looking into the back door of the kitchen. The pool was closed often with no reason given - the desk staff was not friendly nor helpful. The men at the door/bellmen were wonderful and were happy to help in any way. The food at the outdoor patio area was very slow to serve but the food was good. Room service food was good. For the price I would definately look for another place to stay next time - way too expensive for what we got. ........... I also think the name "Villas" is misleading - why they are called villas isn't clear to me, I thought we would be staying in stand alone units as we have in other areas that have called the accomodations villas but these are just simple hotel rooms - I was disappointed but still the room was a good size and the kitchen well appointed. We've stayed in Maui many times and we will go back to another spot and not stay at the Westin again.

Overall the villas were just what we were looking for. Airy big room, modern, and clean. Having a kitchen was great for a few meals in and snacks. The pool/beach area is very nice and at night clears out quickly leaving for a very quiet night. My only complaint is that when arriving in our room we found our that our porch was a four foot cement wall and they were not willing to upgrade us to a new room, after talking to a few people though they found us another room with a great view.

We own at this resort, and although it was pricey, we always come home refreshed and ready to go back. The restaurants here are just a convenience. Better to shop at Safeway or Star Market and do your own cooking. The rooms are nicely equipt for cooking in your condo or studio or barbecue by the pool. If you don't want to cook, hop on the shuttle to Whalers Village or Lahaina for some great places to eat. If you like sushi, we found a fantastic place called Sansai at Kapalua, but you have to drive there. Every weekend they have a hula demonstration from a local hula school. This was so fun to watch, as the dancers ranged in age from 3 to later teens. Very nice, and gave us a sense of the importance of this tradition. There are activities each day for those who are interested. We go there to do nothing but relax, and there is plenty of that! My highlight is the snorkeling, and some of the best can be found right here at this beach. If you are patient, you will almost always see a sea turtle or two. Our one complaint was check in. We arrived at 1 PM for a 3 PM check in. They gave us a pager that would buzz when our room was ready, at or before 3 PM. It never did buzz, so a bit after 3 PM we went to the desk to inquire. We had to stand in line for over 30 minutes to ask when our room would be ready. I think they should have a special line for people who have already checked in. A gorgeous room and a great place to stay! We will go back as soon as we can!

Great snorkeling 30yds right off beach behind Villas; Perfect setting for our first visit; very nice rooms; we got attached studio and 1br units that worked great for 2 families and saved $$ for other adventures - 1br unit has larger kitchen and counter area where we all met and ate; Loved the "Feast of LeLe" Luau in LaHaina; rent a car and go to HANA and also to nearby bay(honalua)for more snorkeling; 6hr fishing trip which was the only disappointment of the trip - very few fish caught all week by all charters; will skip fishing next time for more snorkeling fun with the turtles.

I booked a one bedroom deluxe ocean view villa. The first room I was offered was on the first floor of building 4, with a very distant view of the ocean and a close-up view of the parking lot. The second room offered was on the second floor of building 2, closer to the ocean, but with a concrete wall around the lanai. To see the ocean you had to lean over the wall. Inside, the walls had dirty handprints all over and the upholstered furniture was so dirty I didn't want to sit on it. The Front Desk rep told me that the best rooms were reserved for timeshare owners and renters got what was left over. I finally called a online travel agency and one of the Customer Care Agents joined the battle. He spoke with the manager and got me a real ocean view room, just down the hall so the move was easy. It had dirty furniture too. On the positive side: The Heavenly Bed, the bathroom and the kitchen were all nice. A problem with the washing machine machine was fixed promptly. Hotel employees were pleasant. The pools and saunas were clean. The free shuttle to Whater's Village and Lahaina was a nice perk. The restaurant, Pulehu, is over-priced even for Kaanapali, so go elsewhere to eat. Building 2 was undergoing renovation which may explain why hot water seemed to be in short supply.

The location was great and the view from the lobby took our breath away. We got upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite (we reserved a studio) and it was incredible. Great room, great amenities, great design, great space, great everything. Service was great, location was great, and I plan to stay there everytime I go to Maui.

We booked an Ocean View on online travel website . When we checked in to our room, we discovered we were located closer to the back of the property, with palm trees totally obstructing any view of the ocean and property. We had a better view of the highway, the delivery dock, and the hotel's air conditioning unit. We called to ask for a new room that actually had an ocean view and they said they would watch for rooms, but that this was all they had. My wife asked if they could lower the price, since it wasn't an ocean view and they responded that we needed to take it up with online travel website, as they were not responsilbe for the marketing of the room as an Ocean View. A bit of a cop out, if you ask me. They did eventually find us another room that over looked the pool and had an ocean view, but it only had two full size beds. So we had to sacrafice our king bed for the view. For the price, we were not expecting a spectacular view of the ocean, but we did expect to be able to see the ocean. They did move us, but it was late at night when they found the room. Not sure why they could not find another room until later in the evening. Since this is also a time share property, you are competing with owners for the rooms and I suspect they get the better views. So when you check-in, review the property map and expect that you may need to request another room. All that said, the property is great. It's a great property and an outstanding location. I would definitely book there again. Just be prepared to negotiate on which room you get.

We were VERY impressed with this resort!!! There were activities for all ages to participate in. If you didn't want to participate in an activity, you could also relax in the comfort of your room. The rooms were AMAZING!!! It was like having your own little apartment away from home!!! There was a nice size pool available for your use or the beautiful beach was right at your back door. The concierge service at the hotel was excellent as they were very active in assisting you with planning your events for your vacation. The work out room on site at the resort was NICE and full of state of the art equipment. There wasn't anything that we wanted that we didn't have access to. In comparison to previous vacations that we have taken, this experience FAR exceeded any expectations that we had

We loved the property, pools, location, but were very diappointed with service particularly house keeping. Shower had mold and mildew growing on the tiles. We had to call daily for clean towels and wash clothes. We had to call daily for shampoo and lotion. The floors were only vacuumed after calling and requesting. Sheets were only changed after we called and requested. The ice maker was broken and we had to call multiple times to have it fixed--finally repaired. Front desk staff, in my opinion, has a far less than helpful attitude. The front desk manager was even less friendly and helpful. Our first morning at the resort we ate breakfast at the pool side restaurant and were served eggs with hair--yuk!! Bed was super comfy, the room--sofa and carpet are very worn.
