My new Husband and I had an exhausting wedding my parents surprised us with a room at the Westin. after a long limo ride we arrived and recived VERY gracious service at 9pm from the front desk clerk. He upgraded our room. We had a beautiful room with an exceptional view. As a couple who both work in the service industry(me a restaurant mgr and my husband a bar mgr) we understand the difficulties of running a customer service driven business in a largely tourist city. The standards of this hotel are high for there employees to maintain a wonderful experience for their customers. I live in this city and don't stay in hotels here,but every once and awhile my husband and I pack a bag and spend the night just to be treated well.

I arrived late from New York. After the sleepless night before in my noisy Manhattan hotel room, the Westin was an oasis. The room was immaculate, the view spectacular and best of off, no noise from adjoining rooms.

Breakfast buffet was huge. It was a bit expensive, but worth it. Room had horrible view, and wallpaper/paint was outdated. The location is un-beatable. It's connected to a major downtown mall (Rideau Centre). It is walking distance to all the major downtown attractions and business/shopping districts. The room we had was a bit dated, but the hotel is under-renovation so I assume they are in the process of updating. The gym was awesome. The pool is good, but not great. The breakfast buffet in Daly's restaurant is rather expensive, but very large and worth the price. Over-all, met my expectations and then some.

We stayed at the Westin for 2 nights in a Deluxe room overlooking the Byward Market. The staff were courteous and attentive. The room was clean and floor-to-ceiling windows. The location is very convenient to the Parliament buildings and Byward. Ajoins the Rideau Centre Mall. Can't say a bad thing about the place; we'll certainly stay here again.

This properity is still undergoing renovations. This time they are tearing down their parking structure. Due to this the parking is very limited and they have now raised the price for parking to 35 a night.I was very unhappy that a wrist watch I left in my room was not returned.Internet service is also charged for.The only positive comment I have is that the view from the rooms is stunning

The Westin is perfectly located. Close to the Byward Market and Parliament and museums. You can even see the changing of the Guard from your window if you're facing the canal. Great for families because you're attached to the Rideau Center with plenty of shopping and eating choices. There are movie theaters in the Rideau Center as well. Very quiet hotel despite its downtown location. We have gone back several times now and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Ottawa when we go.

Cleanliness and comfort! This hotel was lovely, the room was spacious and equipped with a large table for desk work, a comfortable sitting chair, closet space and very comfortable beds with clean, crisp bed linens. Very enjoyable and comforting atmosphere.

At check in the front dest isseued us a room on the 7th floor, but I asked if there was anything higher since this was my first visit ti Ottawa and I wanted a veiw of the city. No problem, they gave us a room on the 21 floor, and it was quite and lovely. Clean but the bed wa a little hard, no big deal. Only other thing was the shower really had no pressure. All in all a good visit.

Cons:This hotel is currently undergoing rennovations as of 11/9/07 and there is loads of equipment outside of the front. The room service is MILES TOO EXPENSIVE for what you are getting. The food IS NOT impressive at all what the money you are putting out. Save your dosh and go to the Elephant and Castle! Minibar contains a lot of uninteresting drinks and food and again is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. NO WIFI HERE! This hotel has network cables still. 12.95 a day for internet access. Pros:Elevator is SUPER FAST! Staff is GREAT! VERY PROFESSIONAL! Bed is great! Shower is great! Clean hotel. Right in the center of the action and 2 blocks away from Parliment. Right across the street from the canal. Hotel is connected to this ace mall and there is a WELL ACE food court on the 1st floor.

Great location near Ottawa's farmers market and parliament buildings. Very noisy, no benefits for being a Starwood platinum member. The hotel was under renovations and very noisy with drilling beginning at 6:30am to 6:30pm. There was no attempt to find me a quiet room. There was no benefits for Starwood platinum members such as internet access which would have been available at other Westins. Staff did not upgrade my room despite my platinum status. There was no self park with in-out privileges - only the expensive valet parking was available. Overall, I was disappointed and certainly this my least favorite Westin.

The hotel is a couple of blocks from Parliament and near the canal. The Rideau Centre (mall) is connected to the hotel via a covered walkway. The Byward Market area is a few blocks away -- great for dining and shopping. We ate at The Keg -- best steaks in Ottawa. The Concierge was very helpful, especially since we were waiting for two lost bags from the airport. We only had a couple of complaints: 1) the bathtub had a slow drain, and 2) the carpet had some stains. The beds were comfortable and clean. The room was fresh with no odd smells or dust in the corners. Overall, a good choice if you need a central location. Our room was booked with Total Trip, so we got a great deal, saving about * per night.

My stay at this hotel was very enjoyable. The pool area was nice and it is attached to the rideau centre shopping mall so it was nice to go shopping through the exclusive hotel entrance, without ever having to step outside. The room was comfortbale, some maintenance reparis were needed (the plug in the bathtub was disconnected), the room itself was nice though. The best part of my experience was the food. The breakfast buffet was phenominal! They had everything you can imagine from smoothies to salmon. Ofcourse the basic breakfast components were present aswell such as bacon and potatoes. I would go back for sure. Only complant was the breakfast was 22$ per person. A little steep for a morning meal.

Wonderful view of Parliament and the Rideau Canal. Hotel undergoing renovation during day. A great location for seeing Ottawa, close to everything. Staff was extremely helpful. Will stay at the Westin next year.

This hotel has a great location and the views of Parliament hill are excellent ( cost extra ). Rooms are nice and the beds are very comfy. Bathrooms are small and dirty. Mini bars are convenient but terribly overpriced. Valet parking is nice but expensive. High speed internet is available in every room but that cost extra as well. If you forget to pack your toiletries a pack is ready in the washroom for a low low price that will be added to your bill( not that low ). The good people at Westin also thought that you should know that you can buy your robe, this is why there are 5-6 advertisements in your room telling you so. Your are already paying for premium service why does everything cost extra? ENOUGH NICKLE & DIMEING ALREADY !!!!

This hotel is centrally located-- everything is within walking distance. By Ward market is a few steps away and the Rideau Centre shopping mall is connected to the hotel so very convenient. We went there during the heat wave and when it was hot and humid outside, we stayed indoors at the Rideau Centre and later in the evening, walked to By Ward market. We didn't get to try any of the hotel's restaurants because there were so many others to choose from nearby. Also, when we arrived, the lady at the front desk informed us that the restaurant was closed until 5pm. We found out it was open but didn't matter since the mall was still open and there were more dining options there.

The location was perfect and the front desk staff was very helpful. The room had some bottle caps on the rug and a couple hair in the sink when we arrived. Also, one couldn't sleep in because there were renovations going on. The location was wonderful, and the beds were very comfortable. As well, the front desk staff was very helpful. However, I wouldn't recommend that anyone stay here until the renovation been finished, unless they were prepared to get up early. The jackhammering starts at 7am each morning, which meant one couldn't sleep in while on vacation.

Stayed at the Westin. Employer booked room online. Confirmed pre-payment on checkin & checkout. Credit card still charged. Took 8 months to solve chargeback. Would not admit to screwing up. Awful treatment received.

The Westin Ottawa Hotel has a great location, and I enjoyed most of all that I was able to go the shopping mall without going outside the hotel. The staff was very nice and always willing to help.

Hotel was very convent location. I liked the view of Ottawa town from my room. My room was very neat clean and roomy. Staff members were very good. I enjoyed the hotel very much. I don't have anything negative to say about you. I will recommend my friends and family to use this hotel. Very convenient location. Very friendly staff.
