The location and friendliness of the staff. My husband and I had a great time staying here. The doorman was the best! He went above and beyond! The bed was very comfy!

If you want an affordable hotel that is close to all the action, the Westin is where to stay. We parked ourselves in the garage next door, which only charged 10 bucks a day. We breezed through check in in their beautiful lobby. The room was very nice, with a wonderful bed. You clearly see that you will be charged for the things in the mini bar and on the weight sensored tray, so it isn't like they are trying to "get" you. Just avoid picking the stuff up if you don't want it. One thing I noticed is how nice the hotel smelled. I don't know what they use, but I wish I could bottle and wear it. Staff is very friendly, especially the valet. They always spoke when we came in or left. The hotel was so close to Beale, we felt safe walking back to our room late at night, which was very important being that we were two younger females. I would suggest skipping room service, as the prices are outrageous with all the taxes and fees they tack on. Besides, you're in Memphis...there are many places you should be eating at instead, like Rendevous.

My spouse and I took a quick get-away to Memphis. The Westin was much better than expected. The location was extremely convenient to Beale Street and all downtown activities. The room was very tastefully decorated, heavenly bed,& linens exquisite! Everyone on the staff , from the manager to the valets were so friendly and helpful. They all remembered and addressed us by name each time we saw them.We ate in the restaurant for breakfast only, but the selection and portions were very generous. We hope to return to Memphis within the next year, and the Westin will absolutely be our first choice.

Pluses - Well appointed room, nicely furnished and finished. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location, next door to FedEx Forum and Beale clubs. Minuses- The room service food was uniformly bland and mediocre. Strangely, NO sandwiches on room service menu during evening dinner hours. Also, in addition to a $ "delivery fee." there is a 20% "service charge." Okay, but when I asked the waiter if tip was included, he said "no." It turns out the 20% charge is divided between the hotel and waitperson. So if you buy into all of this up-charging and tip too you can spend nearly 50% above your menu price. Stay here. Eat out.

I have Not had the pleasure of staying at"" OUR "" Westin yet, I have stayed in the Westin Houston. Knowing how important ""Guest Satisfaction"" is am I sure the Memphis Westin will be a delightful addition to Memphis and Beal Street. I have no reluctance when I recommend The Westin to friends and colleagues. I look forward to my personalized stay soon.

We went to Memphis to shop and visit the restaurants and attractions along Beale. The Westin was an easy walk to the National Civil Rights Museum, Memphis's oldest diner, and restaurants that have been featured on TV; and of course all the goodies ON Beale! The staff was so courteous, the parking was close by, and everything was comfortable and clean. I didn't have time to check out a pool or gym on site, but I was exceptionally pleased with the Orbitz price - I paid less than my friends who stayed at a lesser quality hotel in the vicinity! I can't wait to go back. I will stay at the Westin again.

Went to Memphis to see "Wicked" and stayed at the Westin because of it's location. I read some of the reviews on the internet and saw some that weren't that good so was a little worried before the trip. Must say our stay at the hotel was excellent. The service was great and I would recommend the Westin to everyone interested in staying in Memphis.

Friendliness of staff and cleanliness. The location of this hotel is wonderful, one block from Beale Street. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are super clean. Will be back.

Ask for a room that doesn't face Beale St. if you want a quiet stay. We accidentally booked a wheelchair accessible room, and when we asked for a regular room we were told there were none available. After getting to our room, we realized it was facing the back patio of a loud bar, and again asked to be moved. They moved us into a regular room (which they previously said was unavailable, hmmm . . . ) which was much quieter. Also, there were broken machines in the fitness center and there was some staining on the carpeting. The self-parking was a little bit of a hassle; it was not directly connected to the hotel and you had to get a voucher from the valet station every time you wanted to leave. Overall though, the stay was pleasant. The front desk staff were the least friendly and accommodating of all of the staff we encountered. Housekeeping was thorough and friendly and the valets were helpful.
