The hotel was great. When we arrived late Friday eveing they had us booked for a two double bed room. When I asked if they had a room with a queen they said they did and put us in the queen room. It was a Murphy bed but was very comfortable. The room was huge with a sofa, small table and chairs and a bar. The cleaning staff was great until Sunday. We weren't ready to leave the room when they arrived first thing in the morning so I asked that they come back. When we returned to our room about 430P they had not made it to our room. They arrived about 530p just as we were leaving for dinner. They had a huge turnover on Sunday so I know they were busy. When we returned for the evening the only thing they had done was make the bed and put clean towels. They had left the used towels. Also discovered Monday morning no regular coffee grounds had been left. Except for this small inconvience, our stay was great. I know this isn't the hotels responsibility, but was disappointed when I found out the city had discontinued the bus service to the baseball stadium. We ended up paying over $60 in cab fare to attend a baseball game. Since the baseball and football stadiums are so far from anywhere, it seems like the city could make it a bit easier for out of towners to attend events -- at least my team won!!!

It would be very difficult to find anything to criticize during my stay at the Westin. From the moment I drove in to the moment I left, the service was excellent. The atmosphere is every bit a bustling elegant hotel. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. The bed, itself, was a prize winner. And the view wasn't too shabby, either. I think the most impressive element was the service. The staff goes way beyond expectations to make you feel welcome. I valeted my car and never had to wait for it, check in was so easy and quick and the lobby bar area was a terrific place to absorb the activity. Another great feature, that I really didn't have enough time to really take advantage of, was the Crown Center complex itself. All attached with numerous restaurants, shops and skywalks that make your visit even more entertaining. I am sure there are other great hotels in the KC area, but this one is dead center, location-wise and comes with all the bells and whistles. It would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kansas City.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. THEY RUINED OUR HONEYMOON. >>Gouged 13/DAY Parking (above area market) 10/DAY internet and 5/DAY Pool/Fitness (not charged by other hotels in this market...call and see). >>We ordered the 1 vegetarian item the restaurant menu had. 15 minutes after our waiter disappeared, the chef came out and told us they were out of it. we were then charged for juice/coffee we didnt drink since we went somewhere else. >>We were given a tubless handicap access room next to an ice machine that woke up us at 7am every day, on a dry floor where we could not have alcohol and when we got to it, the minifridge was half-empty. >>what are their four stars for? it sure aint: >>VALUE (endless amenity charges/gouging) >>DINING (one vegetarian item they were out of, disappearing waiters, wrongful charges) >>SERVICE (unrestocked minifridge) >>CONSIDERATION) (horrible room)

The hotel is beautiful and the location is nice. The rooms were clean. We apparently stayed on the wrong side of the hotel because the trains woke us up regularly and they forgot to clean our room for 2 days. The biggest problem was that we expected to NOT have to pay for a bunch of extras b/c we upgraded to a nicer hotel - WRONG! We had to pay $14 a day for parking (and that was the cheapest we could get it), $1.50 for each local call (so we used our cell phones), $5 a day for the fitness center and $10 a day for internet. We only budgeted so much and for 4 days, these extra costs would add up. I called down to the desk and asked them about it - they basically said, sorry, if you don't like it you can move to another hotel. BUT, they failed to mention that the fitness club costs $5 a day, NOT the pool. We found this out on the last day when we decided to cough up the $10 to got swimming! Then they failed to tell us the while it is $10 a day for internet in your room, there is FREE wireless in the lobby!! It was like they didn't want us to know, but how could you miss it with the dozens of people in the lobby with their laptops. The location was nice, walking distance to the Memorial, Union Station and the WW1 Museum and a mall in the hotel BUT be forewarned - the mall shops and the food in the food courts is SUPER expensive! I wouldn't recommend eating there. We spent $35 eating lunch at Einstein's (for myself, my husband and our daughter). I won't stay there again - we are shooting for the Marriott next time - free wireless, free pool, less expensive and a nice, somewhat affordable restaurant on top that spins. :) PLUS, when we were contemplating switching hotels, they offered to send the shuttle to get us - BUT Orbitz wouldn't refund the money to our credit card if the hotel refunded it to them so we couldn't.

I have stayed at a Westin hotel before and I enjoyed that experience so I was looking forward to this stay and I was not disappointed. The front desk staff was very efficient and helpful. They gave us recommendations for a good sports bar nearby so my husband could watch his beloved Nittany Lions play. Our room was very clean and of course, the Heavenly bed was "heavenly." I liked that there were many restaurant choices in the hotel as well as an apothacary since I forgot my toothbrush. Although our stay was very quick, it was thoroughly enjoyable.

We stayed at the Westin for the annual KC Hospital Hill Run. The rooms were clean and nicely furnished with modern furniture. The view of downtown was great and the location can't be beat.

Arrived early, initially no rooms available, checked with desk staff after working for awhile in the lobby (wireless hotspot, lightening fast). The clerk said, "You must be bored to death. I can offer you an upgrade." I answered that I was fine and that I did not wish to pay for an upgrade. He then said that he was offerening me an upgrade at no additional charge. I was put in a 17th floor suite with wrap around windows and a beautiful view. Quite a nice stay. The only downside to the stay was that there was an additional charge for using the fitness center. I may be a cheapskate, but that seemed odd and inhibited me from using the facility.

Our room sold for around $93 which is an exceptional value for that level of quality. For those who would rather not pay for all extras there is access to free internet in lobby and parking across the street if you are willing to move it by 8:00 AM. Serene waterfall and lively shops.

We had a terrible experience at this hotel. The cleaniness of the room was bad. Dirty towels were not picked up when housekeeping 'cleaned' the room. Used coffee cups were not disposed of and we were left with no clean coffee cups when we returned to the hotel at night. The bar was obviously understaff. It took 30 minutes to obtain a drink and another 30 to receive our food. Rugs in the hallways were frayed. All in all, this is a one star hotel for a much higher price. We have stayed in other Westins and would never stay here again.

Hotel was very attractive, lots of shops, and very friendly staff. No other food vending, except for room service/restaurant. This hotel was above our expectations, very clean and attractive, very reasonable parking fee. Hotel was full of shops to look at. We unfortunately did not use pool area but did have pool view and looked very nice and well kept. We had a wonderful stay at the Westin!

Glass hallways connect you to Union Station (must see) and the Hyatt Hotel. You can wander around without worrying about the weather! The fountains are beautiful - Crown Center (which we overlooked) has musical, dancing water on the hour. The attached mini-mall had wonderful shops and a food court. The WWI Museum next door is great! The room was spacious, clean and inviting. Staff went out of their way to be gracious. Housekeeping did a wonderful job. I will go back.

It's a beautiful hotel with lovely rooms and a very friendly staff but the bathtub filled up water during my shower and it never did unclog. Also the lamp didn't have a lightbulb and it costs $14.00 per day to park. Some very loud and drunk sounding people were staying across the hall from me. Luckily I was only there for one night, so the lack of sleep wasn't crucial.

Many things to do around the area. The main restaurant in the lobby ran out of almost all of their food, staff was then rude did not provide good service at all. The hotel was nice there is a movie theater and many places to eat without even having to leave the hotel. There was also shopping without having to leave. I did not like having to pay 14 dollars a night to park I thought if you booked a hotel they would at least provide you with one parking space. They also charge a fee to use the exercise equipment which I thought would be included in your stay as well. The pool was nice with a bar and food right there so it was very convenient but also a little on the pricey side. Rooms were very clean and attractive, the bed was comfortable, did provide toiletries whichI find other places do not do anymore, also provide a blow dryer ironing board, iron large closet space, a lot of drawer space, and a mini fridge.
