nice but a little too farThe room was clean and the staff was friendly. However there was a strong smell of food but not in the room only at the reception. There's a bus stop near it and the view is nice (little garden with a swimming pool and a hot tube). We didn't test the hot tube as it was too expensive (6£/pers/hour).

Not bad to be honest, could be better but not badFirst room had a really high roof and a massive bathroom, however, the view was of the front car park. Spoke to reception and they moved us to the only room at the rear of the building that was available which was in the basement. But not to worry, the room was bigger, smaller bathroom but you had your own conservatory which lead right out to the pool. Was a nice warm room. The beds could do with a bit updating as the first night was a bit uncomfortable. Apart from that, all in all, was very nice!

Hotel clean, only saw 1 member of staff but she was friendly and accomodating. In desperate need of modernisation. Nice location, short walk into town.

GreatMaybe a little bit to small but the room was fantastic like in a castle. Big comfortable bed, beautiful bedding, clean, friendly staff, good breakfast, 15 minutes from the city by foot. It's worth to stay there.

This is probably worst place i have ever stayed, cost a fortune for a 2 star place that hasn't been refurbished since it was built. The tea bags/coffee in the room was not replenished during our stay, after having only two drinks on the first day & was there for three days. In hotel information book explained full selection of cooked or continental breakfast was available from 7.30am, only to find they refused to cook breakfast before 8.00am, instead just left out cereal. As we were staying there for business reasons this was not satisfactory, as we had to leave early for work. All in all would never recommend this to anyone.

MAY 2009 STAYNice quiet location 15min walk from town good bus £1.80 (single) and tax £7.00. We were offered room 8, very small, poor double bed and extremely small shower room (nothing like the advertisement). In all fairness we were offered a much larger room (room9) with four poster bed much better standards and totally acceptable. Staff willing to please, so all in all we'd stay there again.

The hotel staff were friendly enough, but the contact only extended to meeting us on arrival, taking our breakfast orders and checking out. The room was pretty small, and although we were 'upgraded' to a four poster room there was little space for anything else in there. The bathroom was dated and the water in the shower was extremely hot, my husband burnt himself on the pipes. There was plenty of choice of food at breakfast, but for me it did not wuite hit the mark. The hotel advertises that it has a hot tubs for guests - this is an additional £6 per head, which we were not aware of on booking. I am an environmentally friendly type too so a few things disappointed me on that front, which I think the hotel could improve on. The heating in the room was on so hot (and could not be adjusted), so I had to have the windows open, the towels were changed each day even if not used, and there were no glasses in the room, only individually wrapped (in plastic) plastic cups.

ReviewI had a great stay. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly, the hot tub was luxurious and the food very tasty. The only suggestion for improvement I could make would be for there to be a slightly wider range of food on offer on the breakfast buffet table.

6th April 2009Lovely looking building with small well kept gardens. Outside swimming pool which was covered over and hot tub which was available for use all year round. When we arrived we were shown to a very small room with the smallest bathroom I've ever seen! This was not the room we had booked, we were expecting a four poster and conservatory. We spoke to the receptionist who appologised and showed us to room 15. This was a much nicer room, the bathroom had no bath, only a shower but was much bigger than the other. The bedroom was quite small but did have a lovely four poster bed and we also had a conservatory off the bedroom which overlooked the pool and hot tub. Probably the best room in the hotel. I would not have been happy staying in the first room we were offered.

Very friendly staff.Breakfast about par for the course no complaints. They did not make our bed we stayed two nights maybe thats not a policy anymore?I saw three examples of peoples bill being \"confused\" we awere told we had to pasy but the mistake was soon rectifierd ( we paid through late rooms prior).Nice bed hot wate r in showers short walk needaverage to good legs to get back but bus or taxi would do easy.

Very good! We got a great deal on the four poster room. Generally, the room was clean and well furnished, although some of the cushions in the adjoining private sitting room in the conservatory were shedding foam. Breakfast was very good.

A nice breakI think some people have gone overboard with their criticism of this place - perhaps they are slightly delusional about what they should expect from this level of hotel and should probably accept they are not pitching at a 4 or 5* level. This is a pleasant, cosy hotel, which works well as a weekend retreat for a couple who want to get out and about and experience Bath's attractions. I haven't scored particularly highly on value for money but I feel that is more a reflection on Bath's inflated prices in general (and the fact there was a sporting event on). In terms of food, we only experienced breakfast, and that was poor due to the quality of ingredients used, and I do feel this should be improved by the hotel. If you want a nice place to stay where you will be spending minimal amounts of time actually in the hotel then this is great. If you are looking for a more luxurious place where you can laze about in, then cough up the extra dough and go there. Simple!

Does exactly what it says on the tinJust cannot argue with £70 for a room containing a four poster bed. No complaints whatsoever. Only minor issues that barely warrant comment such as only trickle of hot water from washbasin tap made filling basin slow, poor reception on TV and Nescafe sachets in room not good. Good selection at breakfast but coffee far too weak or low quality - not sure which.

Expensive, but so is BathThe place is no good value for money (I paid 65 Pounds for a double), but it seems to be difficult to get good deals in Bath. The place is acceptable though. Plus side: good parking options and acceptable breakfast and romantic bed, minus side: smell and small TV

Nicely decorated room with 4 poster bed which was very confortable. At front but not really any traffic noise. Good bar/lounge area. Excellent breakfast. No evening meal available on the Sunday but very good pub down the road. Reasonable walk into town. Also good bus service.

Dinner was not available even though we arrived before the scheduled 'last orders'. Breakfast was good but slow service from the kitchen. The room was gloomy, damp smelling with a dirty shower. When serviced after our 1st night the basin was left with tea dregs in it, the cups dirty, the towels unfolded and the duvet on the bed casually thrown over with the bedcover not pulled up or the scatter cushions put back on - very disappointing for such a lot of money. Our wedding anniversary was marred by the poor quality of the hotel. We will not be going back or recommending the hotel.

A clean hotel if a little 'tired' in the decor. Our room was OK but rather dark as part of it was below ground level. It would probably have been better value for money for our stay if the weather had been better because then we could have taken advantage of the outdoor pool area and the sitting area in the garden. both of which looked quite pleasant. Also, half of the total cost was taken from my account 14 days before our visit even though there was no indication that this would be the case on the confirmation e-mail.

Easy to find and parking no problem. Walk into town perfectly ok.
