The Wentworth by the Sea had a beautiful setting with vistas of hills and ocean. Located in an area close to nature...and shopping(portsmouth nh). Our room was well situated, comfortable and clean. The breafast staff and buffet were excellent. A very relaxing respite.

Good location, great bar staff. Hard to get into hotel with luggage (stairs).

We only stayed one night and that was the best part. My wife and I stayed one night to shop in near by Kittery and didn't want to do all the driving in one day. We stayed in one of the suites on the marina on the 15th of February. To start the staff were nice but the room was the opposite. When we got to our room it was great to look at but that was about it. The first thing I noticed was that the kitchen floor was sticky, my shoes were sticking to the floor! After unloading the car I sat on the dirty couch and noticed on the floor an orange pile of goo (and that is the best I can explain it) the ants seemed to like it though. I immediately called the front desk to complain. They did send someone with a can of raid and said they would send house keeping. After the day out shopping we decided to go for a soak in the spa tub, mistake! The tub smelled and there were all sorts of ?stuff? floating in the water before we ever got in, I decided to take a shower instead. After my shower I put on one of the robes only to find someone else's (and not my wife's) used tissue in the pocket. (I don't think tissues can hold up in the washing machine). The next morning at check out the staff understood but in a way that gave me the sense they didn't care. We will not be staying here again.

We only stayed one night because we could not get more over the holiday weekend. After waiting some years to try this place I was so happy we did. The location can not be better...I love nice pools and hot tubs and this place has two and the pools are heated. Everything is so clean. Rooms are quiet, views are amazing...my favorite part was hanging out at the outside pool and reading a book. They have a restaurant and bar poolside so I had everything I needed. There is much to do in Portsmouth, but it was nice to just hang out here and enjoy. The only negative was the Lattitude was a bit understaffed and we had to wait for drinks and we had a small snafu with dinner, but the wait staff quickly offered free desserts and that was nice. The glassware in the inside restaurant looked dirty and I had to refuse the first set. Otherwise the food was well prepared and prompt. Poolside my lobster sandwich was perfect and fresh. We plan to come here often. Sunday morning the Internet was not working, they did fix it. I hope they monitor it better and fix things before guests find it. Lovely, lovely hotel...not the very best, but close...

New England charm. Check-in; little stuffy and slow. Check-in was a little stuff and it took about 3 minutes for the staff member to come out from the office located behind the check-out. He did not offer an apology and checked me in with little genuine emotion. I am fully ambulatory with no apparent physical handicaps. The new room was very, very nice. AC did run a little loud and drapery doesn't cover well to block sunlight, although the views of the bay/sound/water were very, very nice.

After getting engaged at the Wentworth Marina my fiance had another surprise--a night at the Wentworth by the Sea! When we checked in they congratulated us (he had let them know of his proposal plans that day) and then told us that they would like to offer us a complimentary upgrade to one of the Marina Luxury Suites which are located across the way overlooking the docks at the marina. The beds were heavenly, and we had a great time relaxing in the hot tub at the hotel. Because of rain we were not able to enjoy the outdoor pool, but those looked great as well. We even had a washer and dryer in our suite, which was great because we were able to dry our swim suits before packing them away. Dinner at Latitudes was perfect, we had great service and they had the fireplace going to take the chill out of the October air. We ordered room service later for dessert and were not disappointed when hot lava cakes arrived!

We just returned from a family vacation to NH, Mass, and Maine. When you stay at Wentworth By The Sea, you are an hour from Boston and an hour from some terrific places in Maine. You are minutes from beautiful sandy beaches! But most importantly you could choose to stay at the Wentworth and have plenty to do just at this hotel. This is a top notch hotel that offers absolutely everything you can imagine. The staff was the most courteous, welcoming staff I have ever seen in any hotel. It is very affordable and yet you feel like royalty while your staying here. The views are gourgeous and even though the hotel does not sit directly on the beach, it is surrounded by ocean and harbor views that are very nice to wake up to. The rooms and pools were incredibly clean and very elegant. This hotel even had a business area where we were able to go and print out our boarding passes for our flight home and this was no additional charge. Due to the fact that our flight left late on check out day, the staff was kind enough to give us a late check out also free of additional charges. If you are looking for a romantic getaway, this place would be PERFECT as well. They have many spa options and they have terrific room service. They had a terrific lounge with live piano entertainment for a nice evening. If your going with your family, the sandy beaches just minutes south of Wentworth By The Sea offer a perfect fun day at the beach for the family to enjoy. I cannot think of any negatives to the Wentworth by the sea. It is a hidden treasure!

The well preserved feeling of comfort and elegance in the common areas. Very little noise buffering between room and hall noise/traffic! The staff also work very hard to meet all of your needs! I would most definitely recommend this beautifully restored hotel to those looking for an exceptionally relaxing weekend.

My husband and I celebrated our Fifteenth Wedding Anniversary this past weekend. We spent two glorious nights at the Wentworth and cannot wait to go back! The food and service are spectacular not to mention the views. Portsmouth offers amazing restaurants and shops if you want to spend some time away from the hotel. I highly recommend the Spa Experience to pamper yourself. This is a wonderful hotel.

Very posh, beautiful setting. That we couldn't stay longer. This is an historic NH seaside hotel which was rehabbed by Marriott. It is gorgeous. There's a fireplace bar, a fireplace dining room, a beautiful glass-enclosed pool. We plan to go back and spend a spa weekend there sometime soon.

For */night you expect a view of the beach, but there is no beach. You have to drive to the beach. We had a view of a road. Very disappointing. Room was small. Overpriced for what you got."

Quality rooms and accommodating staff. A nice getaway off season that was affordable. Beautiful restoration of a vintage hotel. Met all of our expectations.

The food was outstanding! Mold on our shower curtain. This place was definitely not worth. Although the food was second to none, just not enough reason to pay the rates. You can get a better room at a cheaper price at other places. Also had quite a bit of mold on the outside shower curtain, which brings to question their cleaning practices.

The front porch where I sat and read and enjoyed the view. Nothing. I wanted to stay at a resort where I could relax, where there was a spa and where there was a view. Wentworth by the Sea had all of these plus more. Everything about it exceeded my expectations.
